I hear so many good things about the Belangers, But can't find anything really helpful in deciding if they are worth the extra $$ vs The Edlebrocks. Has any one proven any extra gains of the Belangers vs Edlebrocks. Do they Sound totally different, other than the fact the bel's are jet coated for less heat emissions what are the differences?
Planning on Buy one or the other this week.

Thanks & Happy Holidays

Edelbrocks are ceramic coated and are the only headers I have seen with flex connectors like stock. Also the only ones I know if that are 50 state legal. No personal experience..

Is Edelbrock still using that mashed together 5 into 1 collector?

Edelbrocks anent that good I only put down 429 rwhp on a (years ago) otherwise stock Gen 1. :headbang:
They now have about 40k on them and except where I have scared them they look like the day I installed them.
Oh yea, they also sound great.

I've had my on for 4 years and 31000 miles with no leaks or problems and they still look good. The flex section is what attracted me. I think I only picked up 18 rwhp. The collector is a little more restrictive than others.

Belangers Claim 50 HP
I can't find anything on what the Edlebrocks Claim But 18 rwhp Sounds like a waste of $1600.

The only 50hp gain claim (as far as I know) is using BTR's catback system with the Belangers on a non-cream puff model 'only'.

I'd think any of the catbacks would supplement the Belangers equally well.

I have a used set of Edelbrocks that I was planning on refurbishing and selling for $1k, but I'll sell them as-is for $500. The mid-flanges are warped so they need to be decked (head surfacing belt-type machine would do they job) and recoated but are structurally sound and have the flex joints. You could probably refurbish them for about $300 depending on the coating costs and they would be better than new since the mid-flanges are already warped and should be stable from here on out.

Bill,
You said they ARE NOT that good. I am inclined to believe you are Joking with #'s like 429 hp from just headers, however you did not say that was rwhp or crank hp. What else was done to the Car?

Thanks

I am kidding. They fit well and have lasted a long time. As stated that was rwhp and I forgot that was with K&N's. Since then the car has been to DLM and put down 698 with no internal mods. I have since done the heads and need to get back to the dyno to see what the heads are good for.

Hey Guys,
I have a set of 1 3/4" Powerflows that are Jet Hot coated I'll sell for $1300 plus $30 shipped anywhere in the states. These are designed like the B&Bs (5 to 1). They are new, but have one insignificant bump on one tube. I normally sell these for $1500, so give them a try! Email or PM me if interested.

Had Edelbrock on my 96RT. About 18HP peak gain is typical but the mid range(2500-4000RPM) was about 25hp gain.

I now have them on Fred's 96RT and also have set of Edelbrocks on one of my Camaros. Great sound with Borla and no cats. I've heard they offer a greater TQ gain than HP gain. Emissions Legal helps in Kalifornia too. The RT just past test only smog with no problems.

Not to sound like an advertisement for bellanger--but my 95 did get 50 rwhp and about 63 rwtq gains. No cats and three inch all the way. Money well spent for me and a base for any other modifications in the future. John

my 95 picked up 20hp with Bellangers alone. I already had highflow cats and 3" muffs. Now at 399rwhp, completely stock was 366, I believe. Then smooth tubes and K&Ns, then I opened exhaust.
Bellangers sound cool, but I was hoping for an extra 10-15hp.
