I popped in the store for 5 minutes and the parking lot was completely empty when I arrived.
Well, at least he left a lot of room between us but still - there were no shortage of spots!

Yep that really, really, really annoys the hell out of me  Thing is they do it on purpose. I have been standing by my car at the furthest parking space away from the front entrance to the store and had people...Try to park next to me, they got the message not to :nunu:

The only place I have ever felt comfortable leaving my car is in France, they seem to have respect for sports cars :)

At least the owner did not park next to your door!

I guess it would bother me if I parked my Viper at the farthest end of the parking lot and the truck parks next to it....At least the owner left some room between the truck and Viper. Did you write "Clean Me" on the dirty truck with you finger? :D

Nice!

Yes. I have the same issue. I don't get why when there is that many spaces you need to park right beside me! Our cars are not goin to become friends so????

Not to Mention is it not easier to park in the middle of nothing? Why go through the effort?

Toronto? LOL. this kind of 5h!7 happens all the time to me too. Sometimes it gets so bad that I cannot get in to my car. One time got to confront the *******, and asked if there were not anough space to park, I got a negative reply........ She got the karma.

At least the Raptor is another "cool" car, and there's an island between. The little Honda, or whatever it is? ***?

I have found myself parking my daily driver (Avalon) next to very nice cars like a Viper, Vette, etc., to protect them from potential idiots. Maybe there are others like me out there and these are examples of them--ever think of that? :dunno:

Once I did this and the person looked at me funny as they were walking into a store looking back at their car, and when I caught up to them I told them I was just trying to park next to them so some careless person did not. They thanked me. :)

And it looks like you made the Benz parking safer by drawing all the attention!

+1, I do this as well. If they are parked way out, I normally don't do it b/c I get the "stay away" message they are sending, but if I see a nice car parked near other cars, I'll try to get right beside them as a buffer between him and other people. Now, if I'm in the Viper, I'm the one parking way out. And yes, plenty of times I've come out and had a crapbox parked beside me. I believe it is the people wanting to see our cars, but too lazy to park and walk out to them.

Took my son to get icecream recently and parked back by the trees all by myself. After standing in line for some time, I'm asked to place my order and had to leave my spot in line becasue this very, very large woman decide to park back beside me for no apparent reason and then was struggling to sqeeze out of her car without hitting my viper with her door. :dunno:

I still can't figure that one out because obviously she knows that she sruggles getting in and out of her car so why park next to something that the owner purposley parked out of the way? It would make more sense for her to put several spaces between us so she can open her door all the way.

Honestly, I think most of the time it comes down to most people are just oblivious to their surroundings.

If you look carefully, the truck dude has parked very respectfully. Stop getting your ******* in a bunch. Most people do love and respect the Viper. But if you go out of your way to park safely, you will get dinged by that "kid with a grudge". I park my GTS the same way as my other vehicles.

I don't know what's going on but it seems like the number of people on the roads that go out of their way to be intentionally annoying is on the rise.

It seems that a lot of people can't park and drive. They drive slow in the left lane and will move over. They do not move over for people merging from the on-ramp. They drive with there brights on high. They get tunnel vision when entering a parking lot on cars parked by there selves, then they end up beside Vipers. Must be all the medication that people are on?

That crap happens to me all the time, whether I'm in my Viper or Corvette, people just have to park next to it with some ugly junk. A few track days ago, I was at a hotel, and I had a room with the car visible from my room window. My Viper was parked with nothing around it but empty spaces (the whole row) -plenty of room everywhere, I happened to be looking at the car (imagine that), and watched in disbelief as the most ghetto pile of crap pulled into the spot right beside my car. These people fell out of it wearing swimsuits and towels smoking cigarettes while trying to herd their unruly kids towards the poolroom. (I think the lady was an employee and is allowed to use the pool on her days off) I went down to make sure my car was untouched, and to check out their ride. -A late 80's Blazer with four mis-matched tires, doors that are different colors than the rest of the body, broken windshield, no inside door panels, interior looked like a dumpster from a fast food joint, -ghetto. They couldn't park anywhere else in the nearly empty lot, but right next to my Viper....I don't get it.

I accidentally on-purpose parked over the line and came out to find a silver friend protecting the passenger side.

I'm guessing your '******* don't get in a bunch' when you go to the movies with your wife, sit down with absolutely nobody around you and then the next couple come in and sit right next to you...leaving zero seats in between. It's called personal space (and my viper likes to it's own also)...are you Japanese American?

Seems to happen ALL THE TIME. It's annoying but they only do it because they want to check out the car and aren't thinking of why you parked in the boonies in the first place. And it is usually the driver who is checking out the Viper so they typically park between the Viper and the building so you can't hardly see your car when you walk to it.

Instead of parking in the boonies out front I like to park to the side and away from other cars. I scope out the lot as I pull in. I'll park at the end of the row next to a curb or next to a buggy corral so only one side of the car is at risk. I also look at the elevation, you always want to be on the high side of the slope. That way carts are less likely to roll into you and when the person next to you lets their door fly open with gravity it won't be into your car. And lastly, I never park next to any car that looks like a battle cruiser.

I do not have empirical evidence of this, but I have noticed the same. Driving in the left lane slow and dirving side by side is the most annoying habit I notice.

I think most people are not cursed with self-awareness. :D

I kinda figured that he might have thought he was doing me a favor and "protecting" my car by parking next to it but you can't expect somebody to realize that unless it's another nice car like the Challenger posted above.

We should use this thread to post future pics of other idiot drivers who go out of their way and decide to park next to our Vipers. lol
