Driveline Clunk and what is a Quaife?

We are newbies, see link, so we have simple questions.
Our new Viper has a lot of driveline clunk. Getting on and off the gas so there is some enging braking, at low speed, causes a clunk. Is this normal? It almost sounds like a loose bracket.

You're refering to driveline lash, and it seems that it's a common trait.
It is made up of all of the tollerances in the driveline, ring gear backlash (not so much), side gears in the diff., play in the six u-joints, small amounts of play in the trans. etc. When power is applied all of the slack, so to speak, is taken up so that when you let off the gas and unload the driveline, the tension on all of those pieces is released and the slack is taken up in the oposite direction with the tension applied from the wheels instead of the engine. Make sense?

Can you make an audio of the clunk? Tator or others on the board might diagnose if the driveline is in the "normal" range or more than that. Prior explanation of what is going on, i.e loading and unloading the driveline.

It should be added that there is very little in the way of insulation in these cars, you'll hear everything more loudly, tire/road noise, driveline lash and all.

Thanks, I didn't know about this. I thought we had "posi traction". Is this better than posi traction?

My 2003 has no clunk in it at all. I have been using Royal Purple in it for the last 25,000 miles.
