Mods: Mopar ECU, no cats, no rear muffler with h pipe. 4.5K miles on the motor after a Arrow rebuild.

422RWHP 465RWTQ

My friends 96 with the same mods (except for the computer) pulled almost idential numbers. 4K miles on his too. (no arrow rebuild)

Doesn't these seem 10-15 low on both numbers?

Seems about right - I had headers, high flow cats, cat back, & VEC1 on my 2002 GTS and got 436 HP and 480 torque. The headers should have been good for the extra 14 HP and 15 torque that I got.

Without cats, the stock ECU will complain bitterly about what it's seeing at the rear O2 sensors. The MOPAR ECU ignores the rear O2s.

Those numbers look right on target.

Didn't see the no cats. Still it seems the Mopar ECU loses HP with only minor mods like these. O2 sims might be better.

Industry standard is 15%, but Vipers have less loss in the drivetrain so I use 13%. There has been a lot of discussion here about the exact loss - 11%, 12%, or 13% - no one seems to have a 100% agreement other than 10% is too low and 15% is too high. Half of the difference between 10% and 15% is 12.5% and rounded off is 13%, so that's what I use.

jcaspar1,

I would be carefull about saying power will go up with stock ecu over mopar ecu in this situation. I agree he is missing the T&D's which would make the mopar ecu more beneficial, but I dont think the mopar ECU is going to HURT his power after he freed up the exhaust like he did. I mean, dont get me wrong, the mopar ecu could be a lot better, check my dyno results (posted in dyno/timeslips), I gained about 4hp and 5tq with mopar ecu, if memmory serves me. And yes, having a mopar ecu is DEFINETLY better then stock when trying to avoid those pesky little o2 codes. I dynoed mine with before and after mopar ecu, so its real world numbers, not some seat of the pants thing. Just my 2 cents. Not saying anyone is wrong, just not willing to jump on the "mopar ECU is crap" ban waggon.
