Not GREAT #s but good enough. About the dyno, Original dyno #s were SAE corrcted on a Dynojet 248C as were the new #s.

Original dyno results 9/14/00 6,000 miles on snake, smooth tubes, K&Ns, lightweight flywheel and 3:54 gear:
Max HP= 400.3
Max Torque= 432.3

Today's results 10,900 miles total, 915 miles since Arrow rebuild on motor, with the addition of Belanger headers, bullet cats & 3" catbacks:
Max HP= 421.1
Max Torque= 473.1

20 more PEAK HP 41 more ft. lb. PEAK torque is OK but the curve is much better, an increase of 40 hp at certain rpms. I'll break her in a little more and do it again.

Fascinating -- this is now the second example I know of with a '00+ car w/cats not seeing the expected gains with an aftermarket exhaust system, my own car being the first. My #s are quite similar to SoCal's -- 420 HP and 465 ft/lbs right after installing aftermarket headers & exhaust, and 431 / 475 500 miles later. In both cases the midrange torque #s are good but the peak HP is down 15-25 from expectations. I'm starting to wonder whether the reduced overlap in the '00+ camshaft is responsible for the lower observed peak HP, as this same exhaust system (Belangers) works wonders on a number of pre-'00 cars.

Does anyone have dyno results from a '00/'01 car with [same, other] aftermarket exhaust & headers which contradict or confirm these results?

The good news for you is that's more HP and torque than you had when you were "motorless"!

The bad news for you is it looks like I don't yet need the slicks to kick your a$$!!! But we're not competitive, of course....

When are we going to have a track day? I didn't wake up this a.m. until 8:00 since I was pretty wasted from my trip this week, and I heard it was going to rain today anyway... Enough of this El Nino-like weather already!

Chris, I agree. I dyno'd at 424 rwhp and 467 ft-lbs bone stock (SAE corrected on a Dynojet 248C). You had very similar numbers as I recall. Ron, with Arrow rebuilt motor, headers, cats, catbacks, smooth tubes, etc., achieves about the same numbers as we had stock. I would like to believe my dyno shop produces optimistic results, but my Z06 came in at the same shop way on the low end of Z06 dyno numbers (336 rwhp, where most dyno in the 340-345 rwhp range).

It does appear that the new cam has made a difference in power, and the older Gen II motors were fairly underrated, vs. the current Gen II motors coming in right on spec.

Ron, ooooohh, I'm scared....

Seriously, though, I think a lot of it may have to do with your ability to launch your car, as evidenced by your 1.8 sec short time vs. my 2.0 sec short time on street tires. Until I change my rear end, the jury will be out as to whether this difference is due to your superior driving skill or your 3.54 final drive ratio!

I think that it varies by the car and the motor. What interests me is the difference after the rebuild with NO mods. Who is to say that Ron's motor didn't come back from Arrow with 380 rwhp? I think it is impossible to say what effect the mods had when there was a complete rebuild in between.

I will have some straight comparisons in a few weeks. The weather here has been crappy and I only have 600 miles on my rebuild. I want to get at least 1,000 before I wind it up on the dyno. Oh, and several people reported the 2000's as being pretty strong, including Hennessey when he first dyno'ed one. I was pretty happy with my results, having done a run just before I sent my motor back. SAE corrected with just tubes and filters: 436.1 rwhp and 483.1 rwtq. As soon as I get some more miles on it I will take it in to the same place. I have done no mods since the rebuild. I'll let you know the results!

Just put my 2000 Rt/10 on the dyno today. Here are the results.
Miles 3920
Max TORQUE 469.9
Max HP 425.4
Mods: straight tubes, K/N's, MOPAR perf. computer, Belanger Headers, Borla exhaust and Cats.
Temp 65
The tuner noted the car started running a bit rich above 2700 RPM's. I noticed this seems to be the case with 2000/2001 models.
Looks like my numbers are in line with other cars having the same mods..
