easy fix for busted out screw hole in door panel

for some reason the holes where you screw the door panel to the door on my '04 were completely busted out, which made my door panels rattle to a certain extent. I am talking about the screw furthest to the front that is covered when the door is closed. Anyway, I went to Lowe's looking for some different washers to help fix this issue and found the perfect fit. its a 3/8 lock washer with external teeth. It is snug fit right into the hole and holds perfectly. If I gave it another thought I would have painted them black so they would be virtually invisible. But as it is they are not that visible and are invisible when the door is closed. Just thought I'd share my little breakthrough for those with the same issue. Sure beats having to replace the entire panel. I'm sure there are other ways to fix this issue but here is another.

Yea whats up with that piece, mine has small crack on both drivers and passenger side and didnt want to replace bc of having to swap whole panel out supposedly.
Where did you find that?

Well, its not real CF. I took the entire upper panel off and had them finished in a hydrographic CF and clear coated. Came out real nice and is as durable as auto paint. Again, not the real thing, but pretty nice looking and a lot cheaper.

The panel is my original. The only breaks I had were in the screw holes. I don't think you can get the uppers separately. I've looked and looked but no luck.

It was done by a local shop here in San Antonio.

Very good work. I had him do the tops of the door panels, the trim piece just inside the sills, the center bezel and the shifter bezel all done in this finish. My only complaint is he didn't match the pattern 100% for those pieces that were separate then reassembled. I guess that was my fault because I could have showed him how the pieces fit together. But it's not that noticeable.
