ECU Location

I did a quick search and couldn't come up with anything. Where is the ECU located in the SRT-10's? I didn't want to go digging without a place in mind. Thanks.

If i remember correctly its behind the drivers side headlight mounted verticle. I think the top radiator hose is right in front of it. This is by memory, but i think i'm right

It will have a couple very long bolts that hold it in and the plugs run along the bottom. You can move the hose enough to get at it if the coolant is cool.

I just got it, thanks guys. Those stupid plugs on the ECU are so hard to get off. My fingers hurt so much right now. And I appreciate helpful posts instead of the "hey junior, try searching a little harder" or something, haha.

Hey Mark, I'm going to have to move my oil change from this Friday to the next Friday, 5/2 for obvious reasons. I should have my ECU back in and thermostat installed by then.

Not quite sure that I get your post. I am sending my ECU to DC Perf to get a reflash, then putting it back in and the thermostat, then taking to get an oil change at Woodhouse. *** are you talking about?

I'm asking for advice in general of the location of the ECU. What, you want me to take my car to woodhouse to take the ECU out? You're a freaking retard.

For the extra cost it wasn't worth it for me b/c I don't plan on running more than 1 tune. I never run race gas, and I don't plan on modding anymore than the Corsa and FMIC upgrade are it for me.

INSTALLING THERMOSTAT​

1​

REMOVE THE AIR BOX ASSEMBLY​

2​

OPEN AIR BLEED FITTING ON TOP OF THERMOSTAT HOUSING​

3​

OPEN RADIATOR DRAIN AND DRAIN RADIATOR INTO A CLEAN DRAIN PAN​

4​

REMOVE 4 BOLTS HOLDING CROSS BRACE IN PLACE AND MOVE BRACE ASIDE.​

5​

REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE FROM THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND DRAIN​

6​

REMOVE 4 BOLTS HOLDING THERMOSTAT HOUSING IN PLACE AND BE CAREFUL​

TO DRAIN ANY ANTIFREEZE INTO CLEAN PAN.​

7​

REMOVE AND REPLACE THERMOSTAT WITH NEW 170 DEGREE ONE, THERE IS NO​

NEED TO REPLACE THE GASKET.​

8​

REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT BOLTS​

9​

REINSTALL THE RADIATOR HOSE AND THE CROSS BRACE.​

10​

ATTACH A LONG CLEAR TUBE TO THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AIR BLEED​

FITTING AND PUT THE OTHER END INTO A CLEAN CONTAINER THAT IS LOWER THAN​

THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND OPEN THE BLEED SCREW A FEW TURNS​

REFILL THE COOLANT OVERFLOW TANK VERY SLOWLY UNTIL ALL THE AIR IS​

REMOVED FROM THE SYSTEM THRU THE CLEAR TUBING AND THE ANTIFREEZE​

IS RUNNING OUT OF THE BLEEDER VENT. CLOSE THE VENT AND LET SIT FOR​

A FEW HOURS AND REPEAT THE PROCESS.​

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GET ALL​

THE AIR OUT OF THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU RUN THE CAR.​

INSTALLING ECM RECALIBRATION KIT​

1​

LOWER TOP, IF ROADSTER, LOWER WINDOWS, AND REMOVE KEYS FROM THE VIPER.​

2​

OPEN HOOD AND REMOVE FUSE BOX COVER.​

3​

REMOVE TWO 10MM BOLTS FROM MAIN BATTERY CABLE AND ISOLATE CABLE FROM ANY METAL.​

4​

THE ECM IS MOUNTED ON THE LEFT INNER FENDER BEHIND THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE.​

5​

MARK THE THREE CONNECTORS ON THE ECM WITH A MARKER WITH THE NUMBERS​

1, 2, AND 3 SO YOU DO NOT MIX UP THE CONNECTORS WHEN YOU REMOVE THEM.​

ALSO MARK THE ECM HOUSING WITH THE SAME NUMBERS.​

REMOVE THE THREE CONNECTORS FROM THE ECM AND THE TWO MOUNTING SCREWS​

7​

REMOVE AND REPLACE THE ECM WITH THE NEW ONE.​

8​

REINSTALL THE ECM CONNECTORS​

9​

REINSTALL THE AIR BOX ASSEMBLY.​

10​

REPLACE THE BATTERY CABLE, CLOSE THE FUSE BOX AND THE HOOD.​

11​

INSERT YOUR KEY IN THE DOOR SWITCH UNDER THE DRIVERS MIRROR AND TURN​

THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WHILE PUSHING SLIGHTLY AGAINST THE DOOR.​

12​

GET INTO THE CAR AND DO NOT TOUCH THE CLUTCH, BRAKE, OR GAS PEDAL​

13​

INSERT THE KEY AND TURN ON UNTIL THE DASH LIGHTS LIGHT UP​

14​

WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING RECYCLES, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH ARE NORMAL, AND​

THE RADIO/CD PLAYER STOPS MAKING NOISE.​

15​

TURN CAR OFF.​

16​

START UP CAR AS NORMAL, LET IT WARM UP AT IDLE, AND CHECK FOR LEAKS.​

Wow, the tune really livened up the car. And the Corsa sounds awesome too (just put that on today). I'm going to be dynoing on in a few weeks to see how much improvement they gave me over my 650rwhp that I got with just the Paxton.

And OH MY GOD, it's never taken me so long to put coolant in a car. When you say fill slowly, you mean reallllllllyyyyyyy sssssssssllllooooooowwwwwlllllyyyyyy!!!!!!!

badazzv8-- I just installed the SCT programmer yesterday, and it feels really good. I have dyno runs before the tune but i have not dynoed it yet since it was yesterday i installed it..........The throttle response is MUCH quicker seems to pull Much better in the mid range also. I need to get out on some open roads to really try it out but overall it feels great.
