I have offerd this simple solution before, and it turned out to be true, and a 5-minute fix:

Check the motor-ground strap.

Check all alarm sensors as well... this can drain a battery within a day or two.

******,

And make sure you talk to JonB at PartsRack about a Battery Tender for the car. It's an item that I consider practically a part of the car.
No promoting here...just my 2 cents.

For what it's worth, I had a similar problem with my 97 GTS this past spring. Although the model years are quit different, some problems can be the same. This one made me nuts. After several battery replacements, and charging system tests, all I could come up with was a intermittent excessive current drain even when the car was not running. Dead batteries all the time. To end a long story, the problem turned out to be a defective relay in the power center. The stinking $10 part was shorting and draining the battery. My advice would be to also check all your relays as they sometimes corrode or fail. (JD)
