My '96 GTS will not keep running after it cranks. It has about 1/4th tank of gas. I don't think it's bad gas or a low fuel level. I can hear the fuel pump running prior to and during ignition, but though it does crank, it stops running within a couple of seconds. It seems like it is not getting fuel, so I suspect the fuel pump might have died. The last time I ran it, it did well, and ran till I turned off the ignition-probably 5 or 6 hours earlier. Anyone have an idea whas up? Thanks.

Have you checked the battery? Is it fully charged? Or perhaps fuel pump voltage?

I have found that the wire leading into the driver's door is broken, so the primary door handle on the inside will not open the door; nor will the outside button work. I have to use the emergency latch on the top of the inside of the door to open and close that door. Thanks.

Have had this happen a few times.... Here's a list on what to do:

1) Check the connections to the battery, if they are loose, it will create this situation (Been there).
2) If that doesn't work, pull the positive battery connection and re-connect after a few minutes. (Been there).
3) If that doesn't work, go into the trunk and pull the fuel pump relay. If you dont know which one it is just pull them all out and put them back in. The relays are located on the drivers side way in the corner. (Been there).

You snake may think it's been stolen so it's turned off the fuel delivery system. If none of these things help, a trip to the dealer is in order...... Good luck.

It's related to your alarm...

I suspect you have a bad "alarm module." The unit is located just under the driver side fascia panel, next to the trans tunnel. A rubber strap keeps it secured in place. Find a friend with a Viper (preferably a '96) that can lend you a module for testing and plug it in to your harness. Your key fob won't work with the test unit (only the donor remote) and give it a try.

Doug Levin

PS. If the driver door electronics are defective (fix the broken wire on your door!), it will effect the alarm. Or, it may be the alarm effecting the door electronics. Plug in the new module and find out.
