I am going to buy a belanger complete exhaust system, and I looked uder my 2000 gts and noticed at the rear of my car that exhaust ends up coming out of 1 muffler. so technology I dont have a dual exhaust?. but I would like to do is convert it over maybe to a side pipe style that way I can have a dual exhaust, and gain more HP. can this be done if I buy new side sills with exhaust exits like the old gen 1s. I want to try and get the best performance out of my exhaust. or with the hp numbers not be that great with either setup, thanks for the help Venom1 of salt lake city, utah

You do have dual exhaust today, with the rear muffler acting like a crossover. The pipes inside are individual and perforated with a glass fiber material between them. Helps deaden the sound a bit and resonance also.

Eliminating just that device will, depending on your taste, improve the sound somewhat though typically with some increased drone.

Sidepipes will expose you to more drone and noise the most will tolerate. Looks great, but check with someone that has done it before you follow suit.

Can't speak to Belanger sound or benefits, though in general (and my opinion) cost per horsepower in complete aftermarket exhaust systems, with nothing else done, (like supercharging or head work) hardly seem worthwhile....
