I'm thinking 55k

Car is an SSG on the west coast.

What's your opinion?

I guess to me 20k miles isn't low miles for s 2008. Its easy to find 03-06s with 20k miles.

Nevertheless your opinion is 60k.

The car is in Cali btw

I wasn't suggesting that 20k miles is low miles. I was comparing the difference between what a low mileage 08' vs. a higher mileage 08' (with 20k miles on the clock) should go for.

Mid $60's for low miles in great condition
Lower $60's for about 20k miles on the clock.

Pricing has been pretty stable for Gen IV's the past couple of years, especially the 08's.

Good luck with your purchase!!!

Its between the 08 viper and 08 r8...

Funny thing is that my bank will only give me 57k for an 2008 vert. When really these seem to sell for around 60.

But they will give me 108k for the 08 r8. When really these sell for around 80k.

I was dead set on an r8 when low and behold a viper popped up exactly the way I would want it. I mean exactly.

I offerred 55k on the viper. They declined. I'm now waiting on a counter offer but 60k just seems to high.

They offerred 60800.

Maybe I'd be willing to go 58 since you all say around 60.

Thanks for the help. This would be my fourth viper purchase. Getting really excited

I'd let them sit on the offer and see what happens. I don't see a ton of vipers moving in the winter months. If it were the spring/summer time they probably would get their asking price pretty quick.

I've seen more 08 coupe seem to drop a LITTLE in price. The verts have always seemed to bring a little less $ than a coupe.

As much as I like SSG. White will be my all time favorite color

Well don't know how this will help u, but our 2009 Vert, with 4,800 miles, we bought it for 60,000, and had to pay 2,040 to have Reliable Carriers haul it here. So u could say we payed 62,000, which I thought was a good deal, especially since 4,500 out of the 4,800 miles were (3) trips from their home in WY to Sturgis SD for a car show, 3 summers in a row! All Hi-way miles!

Now that's a deal.
Yeah T,
I thought so, I've been looking for the last 4-5 years, and definitely wanted a Gen IV, and after talking with the previous owner, (Who bought it new from Baxter) and all the other toy cars they had, how he took care of it, I knew this was the deal I'd been waiting for... Now if I can just get the wife out of it..... :)

The dealership never called me back yet. Ill give them a few more days and Ill call and offer 56k.

To me that's fair. Not great but fair. Hopefully they'll see it my way but honestly if I was sitting on a 08 ssg vert with 20k miles I wouldn't sell for under 58k.

So I understand

Twister,

If the dealership you're dealing with has the name "Mitsubishi" in it, I would pay somebody to go do a very thorough pre purchase exam. I've tried to buy vehicles from them a few years ago and the used car situation was a little rough. There attitude when we'd point out something that was obviously not right was "buy the car and we'll fix it". If you know there is an issue, why put it on the sales floor? Just be careful as I'm assuming you're not on the mainland.

Good luck with the car.

Twister,

Definitely get a hold of some of the SoCal members or hire somebody like Dan Craggin to check it out. Specifically look for body/crash/flood damage. Do not believe CarFax or Autocheck or any of those services when dealing with an exotic. An experienced Viper specialist is your best friend at this point. Good luck, hope it is in great condition.

The last viper I bought sight unseen was flawless but you never know. I appreciate the advice. Thank you.
