I have seen stripes on SRT-10's that just come down the hood only and come to a point on both sides of the air intake. I think I heard them called Fang Stripes???

Does anyone know where to get these? Also, I think the stripe continues on the trunk lid, but is it only on the lid??? Pics would help. Thanks.

That's a nice look, here's the best one I've seen, I would paint the lower area as this owner did as well. I just noticed the IL plate, maybe you can track this guy down.
That was an interesting coincidence....me talking to John on the cell while you guys were on the demo ride.

Yea, Lee... That was kid of funny. Anyway, the car in your picture is one of the guys in my area that cruises with us. Great guy. I forgot that's how his stripes were. I think he had everything done by Prefix. I will have to call him. I did not know if those stripes were a factory, aftermarket like Mopar, or specially made. I have seen them on some others so I thought maybe someone carried them??? They look much easier to put on than full out stripes from back to front. Thanks. Talk to you later. :)

They are from the factory on the 05 commemorative edition. Note, to do it correctly, you do need to paint the defuser section in the back black (as all striped cars came with).

I am biased, but is my favorite stripe package.

On post above, curious why would paint blue stripes on a mamba when main color accent of interior is red. would be interesting to see with red stripes.

I heard that because of the heat generated on the hood they should be painted....also recommend they flow to the lower bumper....

They are painted on the Commemorative which has already been mentioned. I just had these painted on an '08 OE hood which is installed on my Commemorative. If you need the '03 - '06 Viper hood fang stripe dimensions, send me a PM with your email address. For any other Viper hood, you'll need to have your paint shop lay out a fang stripe tape pattern to your satisfaction.

By the way, the '96 RT/10's (white w/blue stripes and black w/silver stripes) came with fang stripes.

I was wondering the same thing. Why try to make a Mamba (special edition Viper) into a Commemerative (another special edition Viper)?

not sure why Paul went for the blue either patriotic, red, white and blue

or probably more likely, to match his white/blue GTS-R

Hey there,
Here are a few samples of the fang strip from a few different perspectives.

I would suggest you chat with a qualified bodyshop , as you should be able to get one to copy this paint scheme. I would politely disagree with the gentleman from Washington, as the reasoning behind the painting of the rear diffuser area is because it is somewhat difficult to paint that back fascia. This was done by Prefix/factory to speed up the painting process.

We have done quite a few where the stripes go down the fascia, and it is absolutely a phenomenal look. No use to paint something black when you can just paint the stripes in that area ( may cost a bit more , but not much if you are thinking of painting there anyway in black ).

Thanks for the comments Bill. Your input is always valued. By the way, your dealership fixed a safety recall and oil pan gasket on the car back in January of 2005. It was bought new and owned by Steve W., a prominent member of the VCA. You may be familiar with it.

Apparently, nobody makes a vinyl stripe kit already cut for the Fangs. I guess my only option is to have them painted on. Too bad because I wanted the ability to take them off if I did not like them or got sick of the look. I'm also sure that painting them will be costly, which I wanted to avoid by going vinyl. Oh well. Thanks go out to JonB at Parts Rack for his help and to all who have posted to try to help me!!!

Anybody with any vinyl capabilities at all can do them for you. We have installed 3-4 cars already that way. But we have a vinyl cutter.:D
