Well its offical. I bought my first Viper. 2005 Commemorative SRT-10. 5500miles on it and in perfect shape.

Trying to pick it up this weekend. I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

I was so excited to buy it I didn't think about how I was going to pick it up..:omg: Does anyone know where I can get a trailer to use? I am in the Chicagoland area. I will post this in the Illinois section also.

Thanks again and I can't wait to meet up with everyone.:headbang:

Congratulations on your new Viper!

You won't be able to post in the Illinois section until you join the VCA but here is their website. Many numbers listed there to call and lot's of information for you.
Home Page - Viper Club of America - Illinois Region

Make sure whatever trailer you get it will fit the Viper beforehand. Get measurements.
If you get a wild hair and decide to drive it home take lot's of pictures!

Thanks Venomiss I did not know I couldn't post there. Guess I have to sign up and become a member..What are the issues with fitment? Width of the car? I have someone with and enclosed 24ft trailer that might help out but if not would a u-haul open car trailer work or am I asking for trouble?

Width of the Viper and front clearance-very low. I would try for enclosed if it's big enough.

Just went and measured our rear -gave it a few extra inches and it comes in at 80" inches.(That's putting in the mirrors). Front end is about 6"inches or less clearance. The angle getting on and off the trailer will be critical.

You will need far more clearance than this on either side to fit the Viper. Plan on climbing out the window once it's in unless you have a side door. Wear sweats-no zippers or belts. :D Others will chime in with some information for you.:)

Congrats, welcome and I'll look forward to hearing about what your neighbors and family think of having a Viper in the garage and on the streets!

Ok well I got a 24ft enclosed trailer. I can now relax. We are leaving late Friday night and driving the 7-8 hours, picking up the car and driving back. I am on such an adrenaline high already I think I could drive twice as far without sleep.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Glad you got an enclosed trailer...that eases up the mind! I DON'T think there will be any 'relaxing' though, until you get this beauty home!!! Yeah, you'll be on an adrenaline high for sure!!! Good for you! :2tu: ~juli
