Hey guys

Bought my 2000 RT back in November and finally after winter storage etc, I drove a viper for the first time. The car is sick, just begging me to give it more gas.

Can't wait to take it out again.

yeah I know all my boys constantly rip on me to take it out, finally did. Is there any advice other then keeping the wheels straight when shifting.

this could be a thread in itself.

let me start:

1. Learn to wrench on your own car, it is fun and much cheaper.

next.

Definitely learn how to handle it before you get on it. These things bite hard and are VERY expensive to repair.

Took a couple neighbor guys for a ride today who were down visiting, they both drive ricers and were amazed at the torque and pure beauty of the 98 RT/10.

Changed my Tranny and Diff fluids today too, so overall it was a VERY good day today!

6 mos? 6 mos? No way! You had to run it around the block or sometin' Nobody's got that much control. Tell us you at least started it up. Once you get aquainted it's a fairly civilized beast.....to a point. And it steers real quick. Sh*t I'm loggin' out and goin' for a run. Happy trails. :cool:

WOW! My car was delivered a couple days before xmas. It was COLD! Just after xmas it was still cold (below 30) but the streets were clean. Out went the Viper, top and side curtains off.

Don't give it too much gas when cornering and avoid tailgating to avoid rock chips and to have more stopping distance. Use 2 people to take off top to avoid scratching and avoid breaking down soft top (just leave it in garage). Welcome and enjoy. :2tu:

Oh Ya! Even if it has low mileage but has the original tires, GET NEW ones as they lose their grip when hardened and dried out. One set of 4 tires $1200-$1500 is cheaper then the smallest of body shop repairs and if you really lose it, well that's that!

P.S. A valentine1 Radar detector is said to also pay for itself over time. www.valentine1.com
