Well, after many years of searching and wanting, I finally picked up my first Viper this weekend. Originally, I wanted an ACR (thus my sig), but I had to settle for a 5,000 mile 97 B/W GTS. This thing is absolutely amazing! Only problem is it will be going into my garage and not coming out until April, as the weather is getting pretty tough around here.

Thanks to all who replied to my many posts on various Viper related issues and concerns.

Love just looking at this thing in my garage. Still can't quite believe it.

That's hardly "settling" it's one of the most collectable and sought after Vipers.
Good luck with it winter will be torturously long.

I was obviously kidding when I said I had to settle. The B/W GTS is the perfect Viper. Thing is absolutely bad ass!

Will take some pics so I can post them. Car is resting comfortably next to it's 2 brothers (02 Z06 & 91 Notchback with 600 H.P.). Hope they are not fighting while I'm at work. ;)

I just noticed your sig. You have 2 of the best Vipers on the planet. Who could want more than a B/W GTS & a Graphite ACR. Can't beat that! Have you posted any pics of teh ACR? Would love to see more of that one.

Congrats! Sounds like you'll be spending more time in the garage than the house this winter. :headbang:
Remember, when Spring comes around take it easy with all that torque til you get used to the beast. :drive:

Already set up a sleeping bag right next to it. I plan on cleaning every possible thing on the car and giving it about 20 coats of wax during the winter months so that by the time spring rolls around she will be as purdy as ever.

Thanks, I can't argue with that.
Here's the three of them during the brief time I was a three Viper owner.:omg:
Now the red '98 is gone, and so is the 80 year old garage being replaced by a new bigger one.

ENJOY your B/W, for my money it's the greatest color ever put on a Viper, period.

That is a sweet pic! As far as the B/W goes, I would have to agree with you. Something about a B/W GTS that screams VIPER!!! Although I originally wanted an ACR, every time I would think of a Viper, the B/W came to mind. This car is just plain amazing. Nothing quite like the feeling of driving a Viper. Can't wait until Spring so I can add some miles. :2tu:

Thanks everyone! Came home from work yesterday and turned the lights on in the garage when I came home and it was just sitting there looking pretty as ever. I thought to myself "There's your Viper" Sorry everyone, just still giddy that I have one in the garage. Been wanting one for a long time.

Unlike a lot of "sports" cars that thrill never seems to go away, at least for me.
I got tired of my Z06 in a few months especially after seeing ten of them in the same color in one day.
Traded it in on my first Viper and never looked back.
Six years later I still get excited to be going out for a drive in the Viper.

Saw the first Viper sold in Salt Lake back in early 93 and told myself someday I will have one, it took me 14 years but I did finally get one and it was a '93 exacty like the one I fell in love with in 14 years earlier! I have had it 3+ yeasrs and still stare at it everyday. :2tu: The Viper fever just grows stronger every day, I want another one!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, you're gonna love that car!!

To the other more knowledgeable GEN II guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't just adding the smooth tubes accounting for the extra 10 hp?

Regards,
Aaron

Welcome to the B/W club. I know the feeling you are having. Only had mine for 6 months and still poke my head in the garage to take a look at it.
