Anyone have an SRT with a fire extinguisher mounted inside the car, without using a rollbar? I'm needing one for a standing mile event, looking for ideas on what has worked for others. What is under that plastic cover right behind the seats, with the little speakers on it? What is right under the shelf area behind the seats? Looking for places to screw into.

Car is a 2006 coupe.

Thanks

Jon, I didn't see any fire ext stuff on your site. I was just there, I'm the one who ordered the black steering wheel from you this week. ;)

Ordering a mount won't work, as I need to install it today or tomorrow. I bought the ext already, just looking for somewhere to mount it.

Texas Mile in Goliad, TX

Make sure to say hi to some of the Dallas guys Tony. They will be parked at the LG Motorsports trailer. Ricky in his grey/black GTS with parachutes, and Kelly with his black Heffner car will be there.

I ended up building my own mount this evening. I had some 1" wide by 1/8" thick aluminum flat-bar in my shop. I tried putting it in front of the passenger seat, but couldn't reach it easily. I wouldn't want to be in an emergency situation and have to get out of my driver's seat and reach all the way over that huge console. I decided to put it in front of the driver's seat, it is out of the way there too. Pics:

I bought it earlier this year, I believe it was either Sears or Wal-Mart. Any of them should work with a similar bracket though.

Just a thought. You might want to so something about that plastic clamp and mount. If that thing should come loose and get tangled up in your pedals while you are on the track??????

That plastic band is very stiff, it won't come loose unless you lift the tab pretty hard. Even without the band, the mounting base hugs the neck of the canister enough to hold it in place. It "pops" out once the band is removed.
