This was at our local 1/8 mile track, the annual "Draggin' for Toys" charity race so I swapped in my powerglide to play. I qualified #2 with a 6.002 @ 118. The first pass wasn't on video, it was on wastegate springs @ 9.5 psi and 93 octane timing. It was a 6.12 @114. I tried to turn the boost up in the semi final but....let's just say...the AEM isn't user friendly :D

Videos: First time out with CPE TT, PG- Video

This was the #1 qualifier with a 5.97.....he was leaving a little harder than me :D

Great Driving Tony. If I could drive 1/2 as good as you, I'd be running 10.5's all day long :D

On a side note: Anyone have a 13k they can donate to the "Disturbed Power Fund" I can give a receipt and it could be tax deductable. It would be the PERFECT holiday gift...for me :D

Wow.. Looked and sounded great. How do you feel about your times? Can I ask what size and type tire/wheel you are using?

Thanks guys, it has been quite a while and it was good to get back on the track with the Viper.

So what are you predicting in the 1/4 tony?

With either transmission high 8's won't be a problem. Granted, for an 8 it needs a little more boost or a tune for something other than 93 octane. At the power/tune the videos were taken it would be a 9.20 in the 1/4 even with the cruddy sixty foot times. I did a 4th gear pull on the freeway last Thursday at 12.5 psi and pump gas with the six speed and it felt really really good. The speed on the data log may be off a touch but it took 4.45 seconds to go from 88mph to 153 mph. That might have been more like 81 mph to 146 or similar in true speed. I need to take the GPS out and see if the AEM is off like the speedometer is (and reconfigure)

Nice run Tony! Sorry I didn't make it. I'll get by sometime before Christmas. Just let me know when you have all my gifts bought and I'll come by to pick them up :D

Your gift ??? Well....lets just say it's hangin'....and not on the mantle :D

I was fine with those et's and mph for the first outing on low boost. I'm disappointed in the sixty foots....they were exactly the same as the automatic/stock motor/Roe/nitrous combo I ran 2.5 years ago, not that I expected them to magically get better with the same tire. Back then I had a 3.55 and now I have the 3.07 back in. I'm only going thru the lights at 5100 rpm in the 1/8 mile. A poweglide first gear is very close to the second gear ratio in the six speed and of course second in the glide is 1:1 like forth gear in the six speed. The rears are 10x16 Purners with 28x12.5 ET street DOT slicks....the tires are 3+ years old ??? That isn't helping any.

Tony, are you running W/M injection?
Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected], and I will tell you how to calibrate the AEM speed, and your speedometer neddle.

The w/m is still there from the Roe but not yet hooked up. Playing on the street and the six speed with the Kumhos, third gear was fine at 10 psi. I tried it at a little higher boost and they didn't stand a chance in third. I had to do it in forth. I guess my point is that with 93 octane timing and street tires it's already over the power limit in second and third. I think I could turn the boost up enough even with low 93 octane timing and spin them in forth gear. So the w/m will only be needed at the track for a maximum effort "or" fifth gear on the street. When I get the six speed back in I'll work on the speedo and might need to hit you up for some help....thanks for the offer.
