All, I’ve been thinking of painting the rear valance of my SRT-10to be flat black like the areas around my exhaust pipe. I did this quick and dirty mock-up of what it could look like to get opinions. (For those of you that know me, yes I understand the irony of the poor mockup quality but I did it in 10 minutes.)

Has anybody seen this on a SRT? If so, are there pictures of it you can reference?

I think all of the 2006+ Vipers come from the factory like this.

Cool, I think I'll do it, I just havent seen it on a non-striped SRT-10
Yes, very rare to see on a vert or non-striped car. So mostly you see it on Coupes with stripes and it looks good.
Theres a few guys who have done it. Ive been wanting to do it to. I figure exhaust outlet is flat black, our vert tops are a flat black, it would look pretty good. And now that I ordered flat black centers on my wheels, I think im going to do it. Its just getting a shop I trust to do it.

All vipers w/stripes come with black (vert or coupe} , yours looks great even without stripes. Great work!

Personally i think it looks great on a coupe but something looks off on the convertible. The rear valance area on the convertible cuts into the rear bumper where as on the coupe it is below the bumper area.

...yeah buddy.:2tu: I've thought about doing this as well, I think it looks great. Definatly needs to be flat or satin though.

Im liking this look a lot.
I think those rear light covers and bacup light covers help add to rear end with the black.

I was wondering why some vipers came with black rear centers. Now is this center part of the bumper or is it a section that can be removed and painted? It doesn’t appear to be a removable section but I thought I'd ask.

I think it makes the viper appear wider than it already is...

Part of the rear fascia and non-removable.

damn, that was a **** car.....kind of miss it. the stable has expanded a little since I sold the srt to include a 05 lambo gallardo, a heavily built 04 996tt cab, a supercharged h2, a ariel atom and a few others that I am sure I am forgetting.
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for vipers and I am sure I will have a coupe by spring

My 05 Commemorative Edition vert has the black "tunnel".......I took the diffusers off (dropped the panel and drilled out the rivets on the fins then replaced them with small bolts and lock washers and nuts) and painted them white (same color as the car) and put small Fangs logo on the outside of the 2 "outside" diffuser panels.....looks awesome! Oh....and as you already know the car has the blue stripes from the factory.

No clue what the post above said, puttin fangs on stuff. ... If you consider this mod, use the correct paint, it's not flat, more of a satin. Seek the correct paint from your trusted dealer, you'll be glad you did....

Where's the "This Thread is Worthless Without Pictures" banner?
