Have them shaved!!!! I flat spotted my front tires on the track a week ago, posted on the board and received various replies. I found a place in Pasadena that said it could shave tires. I took it there and they shaved about 1/16th off, balanced the tires on a high speed balancer and then balanced them ON THE CAR. It was great, no more thump, thump, thump, it rides like glass. I highly reommend these people to Southern Cali Viper owners. They also "vulcanize" tires, if you pick up a nail instead of a patch and loosing your "Z" rating they heat it up to make the fix and you retain your high speed rating. If you wanna put this in your roladex they are Caldwell Tire in Pasadena, phone # 626-795-5171.

SoCal Rebel,
Happy to hear about having your tires trued and that you are VERY happy; Ain't it GREAT!! Here is what I posted to you originally:

"Definately have them trued(shaved). I had my fronts done, and it drives soooo smooooth and vibration free, and of course NO THUMP !!You should find someplace in your area, and the cost is $30.00 (what I paid) to $50.00 per tire. You will get many more tire miles. DEFINATELY WORTH IT !!!"
**********************************************
What kind of cost did you encounter ??

SoCal,

I was racing with you last week and I didn't think you ever got going fast enough to flat spot a tire.

Mods going in this week. Can't wait to do it again on the 29th. Maybe I can even keep it on the track this time.

SoCal,
Now if you really want to "...kick your a** at...", have the Rear tires trued. Guaranteed to be somewhat out of round.
Good Luck.
