The pump is in the gas tank, I have a service manual and have been working on cars for 20 years. My recommendation is that you take it to someone that has done this before like your Viper tech and let them do the work or at least help you do it. This can be a real challenge even if you are comfortable with the car, this is also a good time to consider an upgrade if you have any intentions of significantly increasing your HP. If not, I would still let someone help you that has done it before.

You need to drill the rivets in the trunk which secure the panel that gives you acess to the tank. Disconnect the tank straps and lines and pull the tank into the trunk. Then you can unscrew and remove the fuel pump assembly. Not too difficult, although you might scrape up your arms a bit.

I have a fuel pump from a 1994 RT/10 with only 15,000 on it. It worked fine when I removed it. I changed the fuel system over to a external pump and fuel cell. I also have a new internal strainer/filter and all tank gaskets and clamps. If you need the parts let me know.

I agree with one bad snake. I watched the "Wizard" Chuck Tator change mine out. It does require removing the rivits in the trunk and breaking the glued seal on the front of the trunk wall. You also have to remove the fender well lining on the passenger side rear wheel, this also requires drilling out the rivits on the edge of the fender well, must be very careful as this is right up against the body and one slip could equal a scratch. You have to remove this to disconnect the fill tube or fill hose from the gas tank. Then hope and pray that when Dodge put your body on, obviously after the tank was in the frame, that none of the body resin or glue they use to mold the body leaked onto the tank. Mine was basically glued or molded to the car. It can be done but be ready for a few hours worth of work. Also dont forget to get all the rivets and a heavy duty rivet gun.
Like mentioned earlier I would suggest taking it to the dealer, as I think it is only booked at 1.5 hours. Or if you do it yourself call Chuck Tator at Tators Dodge to get advice and the proper rivets to put the front trunk wall and rear fender well back in.

you guys with RT's are VERY lucky, on the GTS there is NO panel acess, you need to cut one out and BUY a acess panel from DC to replace the panel that was cutted.

Marc,

How do you get to the gas tank pulled into the trunk with the fill tube still attached? It is a very tight sqeeze as it is. They removed it on mine, I am not sure what the service book says.

Also, you will have to reseal the panel in the back when putting back together with some glue. After mine was done, I wound up repainting my trunk since it got a little scratched up and needed it anyways.

You just need to carefully pry the panel off. They use a sh!tload of sealer. You can just take a small screwdriver to take the filler hose off. When it comes time to put it together you can apply sealer to the panel and the car and press together.
