I recently installed a Roe blower and now my fuel pump has gone out. Im useing the 10# pulley and a bap. I just needed to know what I could replace the stack fuel pump with since the one from the dealer is 1300.00 dollars. So my question is what options do I have? Any help would be great as my car is outside tore down waiting for me to get it going again. Thanks

my dealer said they are discontinued and they are in some wearhouse were they send parts that are important that they dont make anymore. Is there anyone i could contact that could set me up with everything needed to do a complete fuel system that wouldnt hinder reliability or having to fiddle with it all the time.
Also about the walbro do they make a direct replacement for our cars.

I wouldn't look for the dealer to provide any fuel pump good enough for your S/C car. You might want to look for a tuner or look into building the fuel system yourself.

It is fairly simple to replace the stock pump with a Walbro 255. If you search the internet you will find a donut that sits in the bottom of the bottle and supports the pump. Even though the single pump-in-bottle gets bad press, when done correctly it can get you up to 800 hp.

I have a 255 with a BAP and dyno over 850 rwhp (NOS), I log the fuel pressure religeously. The pressure does drop a little, but, the volume will maintain the 850 hp, With the increased pre-ignition pressure (SC), it may not perform as well in your case, but, still close enough.

I did mine over four years ago and cannot find the paperwork. I can tell you this, I used the 255 lph Walbro, it was for a Mustang. I bought it at Summit. The site that has the donuts also has the pump. Just search for fuel pump kits, you will find it. That is all the site sells. I think he caters to the Ricers and the Mustang crowd. I will look tonight. The Mustang pump has the electrical connector reversed, just flop the wires inside the pump.

Bosch Part #N67732 comes up as the stock fuel pump for my 97 GTS.

Available to order from most Big Box parts dealers for $900-$1200 depending on where you go.

I would agree with the others though that the Walbro is the way to go over stock.

That number you are quoting has to be the whole bottle assembly. I paid less than $200 for the Walbro.

Indeed it is. It was mainly in reference to what Tator posted about the 96-99 pump not being available.

Walbro is still the preferred route...:)

As a side note, I just received the RSI triple pump holder. It replaces the old bottle and pump. It is a work of art.

I talked with Chuck over the phone after he posted up and he suggested the walbro and said he has done many and that that pump works great. As for the triple pump set up, I thought about it but spoke to one of the great viper tuners and after they explain that at half a tank of fuel starvation could become a problem under high g turns and hard acceleration I decided to keep the factory setup but replace the pump with just the 255lph walbro. Since the pump is wired backwards for our cars does that mean that I hook up the black wire from the pump to the power wire and the red wire to the ground. Thanks for everyones help and I'm just glad this didn't cost me 1300.00 big ones.

That was a Walbro for a Mustang, I am not sure they are all like that. It was easy to reverse the leads to the connector.

So what is the max a stock pump with a BAP can support with a VEC and W/M? I just deflowered my Creampuff and went from the 6.5 to the 10 lb pulley.

its just crazy on a 10lb. id get a fuel system now. you spent way to much time and money on your car i assume to NOT do it.. you changed pistons when you didnt "have to". they would have held up, maybe......but for how long ?

will it work on a 10lb, maybe. but for how long ? and there is never anything wrong with extra fuel available.

SO far with my Boost-a-pump on the stock system I'm running just fine at WOT at a 12 lb indicated boost. I have a pretty good shot of W/M complimenting the A/F (10 injectors right in the intake ports of the ported ROE manifold). I haven't done much specific tuning in regards to A/F vs. timing at this point as I let the new build break-in. I'm running about 9 degrees max retard. Not sure what others are doing since WE HAVE NO ABILITY TO SHARE VEC TUNES on this web site!!! I would be curious to see the fuel pressure at WOT. Not really running blind, but truth data would be nice. Right now I'm just monitoring my A/F gauge. I may make an appointment with Larry Macedo for a good dyno tune where he can validate/verify what is going on and optimize my set-up. I do have a bit of stumbling at Tip-In that I did not have before...but with the street port on the heads and the ROE manifold hogged-out, there is probably some low RPM intake flow issues coming off idle. Also, pretty cold-blooded at start-up with the 2 step colder NGK plugs from Sean. Once its warmed up it idles, ecetera just fine. Other than that...HANG the F-- On !!!

I made 635rwhp/675 rwtrq on 8 pounds of boost, w/m and stock fuel pump/BAP. Fuel was maxed out in the upper rpms.

I had the 255 pump installed when I switched to the 10 pound pulley (still using w/m and BAP). With this set up I made 660rwhp/710rwtrq. I get just a little bit of boost creep (from 10 to 11 pounds) in upper rpms with the stock heads but not much.

Jack, any concerns about fuel level when running that setup? Did you purchase just the hanger, or the whole assembly (pumps and all)?

I just bought the hanger, but, that is the core. You can mount two or three pumps. As far as the level, it cannot be as good as the bottle. It is very nicely designed.

Jack, are you running two or three? Apologies if you already stated this.

If you are running three, where did you get a 3-1 Y block for the pump feed lines?
