I was sitting at a gas station today and they ran out to up the price of gas from $0.20-.30 more after they got news of the hit in NY. Well, I later find out that these gas stations pretty much get their gas from the same place and that the source didn't raise their prices. So basically, if this is true and I'm ignorant to economics...they bast*rds are nothing but vultures who are probobly happy that something like this happened! They remind me of people who loot when there is a riot. Basically there is no difference to me..just in another form!

What a bunch of A$$es!

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I concur completely. Here in Indy, a Marathon station raised their price from $1.87 to $4.99 this morning and an Amoco from $1.89 to $5.99. The police came in and took digital photo's of the signs and pumps for possible future prosecution. They soon after returned the prices close to the original level.

The gas cost did not go up, it was the owners of the pumps trying to capitalize on the situation to make more money. We own gas pumps at our grocery store. If anybody reported the different stations around town that jacked up the prices, the stations are suppossed to get fined. Our pumps stayed at the same price before, during, and after the incident. $1.59 was the going price around town and some stations jumped up to $2.99! We get another truck of gas tomorrow and the price didn't raise.

Holy smokes! Are you kidding me? Sheesh, I'm a capitalist and I can see uping the price a bit, but that's unreal!

In Johnson County, Kansas (where I live), there is a hotline to turn in such gas stations to the local prosecutor. They WILL prosecute those gas stations that are deliberately gouging customers. The lines here are long (unfounded panic), but the prices are steady. Sigh...
