A Gen 1 Viper owned by Mr. Paul Carmichael, our newest customer, produced 593 RWHP and 804 Rear Wheel Torque on the dyno yesterday. The car is a HMS Venom 550 that we installed our NEW BTR NGP Injection System on.

On its baseline pull on motor the car produced 454 RWHP and 475 RWTQ.

Please correct me if Im wrong but I believe that this is the highest torque ever produced by a Gen 1 Viper. The A/F ratio was 11.0 throughout the powerband.

Congrats again, Paul!

P.S. if someone can offer assistance, I have the dyno sheet that we can post here for viewing. Thanks!

Tom, congrats on the high horsepower dyno. I do know of another Viper that did make more hp and torque. It's in Viper Magazine -- Doug Levin's old Gen 1 Viper made 870 rear wheel HP and 1100 lbs rear wheel torque at our South Florida King of the Dyno contest 4 years ago. The following year he made 971 rear wheel horsepower and pegged the dyno when it went over 1200 lbs rear wheel torque at that next dyno contest. I forgot the issue, but it's in Viper Magazine. It said Doug's car sent people scattering, rubber tire chunks went flying, pictures got knocked off the wall and he broke the dyno.

Your customers car sounds like it should be very fast. Let us know how he runs at the race track.

Funny you should mention about the flying parts, we used to dyno at a different facility before it closed and the owner left momentos of slingshotted driveline and engine parts where they impregnated various walls, doors and other places throughout his shop! Its amazing to see what these parts do when they depart the car at dyno mph of 150 or so.

Thanks for the info on the DLM car. I was unaware that he had a Gen 1 viper in the past.

Not to get off of the subject, but the Venom 550 costs $22,000.00. 454 RWHP and 475 RWTorque seems a little low for the cost?
I paid around $4500.00 parts and labor to get mine to 405 RWHP and 498 RWTorque and that's just with bolt-ons.
This is why I am still waiting for head and intake work on mine, plus everyone is so d@mn far away from me(35 hours).

454/.85=534HP close to the claimed 550 Most Gen I cars I've seen with basic bolt on's (headers, exhaust, tubes, filters) dyno right around 400 rwhp cost $3,500-$4,500 if you add headwork $4-5K and a cam maybe $2K (including labor with the headwork) for a total $11-12K + $10K extra "Viper" profit = $22K ??

I would bet with a mild cam (crowler??) and headwork you would be near 460-480 rwhp maybe Tom can hook you up??

My old DLM blown RT/10 (1994) was approx 700 at the motor. With the torque around that area also, probably higher. The customer that bought it also put a Nitrous 150 or so shot on it (DLM did the N02 install, that was about a year ago. I"m sure the car is well over 800+RWHP number also..
