I have done this and I did not find it overly difficult.
There is a small trick to removing the head light switch, as you have to stick something in the hole in the bottom of the knob and it will slide off.
The other thing I remember is to unscrew the tilt lever from the steering column after tilting the steering wheel appropriately.
Then its simply removing the center console and center section first, then removing all the screws holding the dash on. You will want to be forceful but very delicate, as finding a replacement for a broken/cracked dash at this point would be difficult/very expensive.
