According to one of the mags, the design wheel gap is 10mm. That's something less than 1/2 an inch or roughly 0.4 inches. :)

Wow, what an idiot you are. Your ASSumption is totally wrong. Might want to know exactly who you're talking to/about before you go spoutin' off at the mouth there, brah. Im 31 and think all of the LED's in the new headlights look goofy. You dont "appreciate" the technology, you just think its cool. How old are you, 15?

Austin...you are talented and thanks for all the work you put in here. Running light are not about "cool"...and car makers could care less if people think they are goofy...they are about being seen...not you looking at them.....people seeing YOU when you are going way to fast...they can mean the difference in life and death. Unless you were trying to evade something imho it is highly foolish to turn them off. When I trailer I turn my full headlights on...same reason. Any extra helps.

Having drls and a bright color...white is the best...has a measurable effect on visibility and therefore accident reduction. I personally do hope there is a way to temporarily defeat them...wink wink.

I fully understand the use of DRL's, its that the LED's are over-used in this instance (in the front). Im an aesthetics kinda guy. I pay attention to the looks and details of things. The ones on the GEN V just look goofy, IMO. I saw all 1000 of them lit up in person at the Gala. They just do not fit the car, IMO. To me, the way they are done kind of gives the car a "girly" look.

Did someone seriously just say that the LEDs are used to let other drivers know you are coming for SAFETY!? Sir, come here, I have an ocean front villa in Kansas I can sell you.

LED strips in the front are a fad. Just like matte is a fad. Just like blacked out cars are a fad. Just like pin striped wheels were a fad. Just like concave wheels are a fad. Audi even marketed it as having "the coolest lights in the neighborhood". It just blows my mind what sheep people are. "My friend's Porsche has LED strips in the front, they are so cool, I must have them! Ralphie, please copy Europe because they are so great". A true car enthusiast would be more interested in the performance and overall looks, not some stupid LED that looks cool. What's next, neon underglow gone mainstream?

Seriously, every fad all of you seem to oogle over originated in the hood. I saw matte cars in the ghetto decades ago. Same goes for pin striped wheels, they were popular among the ricer crowds, as were concave wheels. Mexicans always loved the blacked out look. All of these styles are straight out of the ghetto. SMH

If you want to follow fads, that's fine. Millions do it, obviously. But don't be ignorant to the fact that you are drawn to what's trendy.

When I saw the new kia's running LED's -- I just about puked :(

Not a fan of LED's. I was originally when I saw them on Audi's because at the time (several years ago) - it was different. Now that all new cars are coming with them (Even the new Jeep SRT8's) - I don't like them.

Would rather have snake eyes ... Larger HID's up top, with smaller HID Fogs on bottom ... Now THAT would look awesome! :)

I hate automotive LEDs because most implementations look weird. I'd rather have them in a clustered circle pattern than in eyebrow or eyeliner pattern. I think the clustered circle is functional, cool and classy.

But I do agree with ACR_steve that they are here to stay. And now that Philips has released them for homes, they will make their way there too.

The next big lighting technology will probably be OLEDS that can be made into any shape. I'm sure there will be people complaining, "where are all the little light bulbs!" and "these OLED thingys are just a fad."

The blue looks great on this new Viper, but that all black interior looks so boring in one color.
