$hit! Spilled some touch-up paint into my passenger seat, got it mostly out with quick and excessive application of paint thinner, but I can still see some outline of it. Any suggestions on removing it?

Alternatively, what options are there for buying another seat? New price? Used but good condition price?

Ack, this *****! Might just park it outside for ~8hours, see what that does

try something gentle but slightly abrasive after it
dries out in the sun..

maybe a stiff brush. like to scrub pans??
and then use Zaino leather in a bottle to fix any scuffs.

might work....

New seat around $250 to $500
can not recall too many beers.

$500 a set or each???

If nothing else works, I would suggest calling a leather dye guy. I had the 80% of an interior re-dyed once. They matched the other 20% perfectly. So, they can probably treat and re-dye the part you messed up for $50-100.

It's like paintless dent removal, they can come to your house/work and do the job.

Tried out some leather cleaner then leather care after the paint thinner, to not avail...

Thanks for the suggestions both of you. I wasn't too worried about it because at least the $ to replace (the most I'd have to pay anyway) isn't as bad as a new hood, engine, etc.

if you "have" to replace the seat.
Don't!
pull both out over the winter season and have a good local
guy recover them and put in some better foam for support
and you will have 2 "new" seats for way less than buying new.
Probably do the whole project for around $1k

And if you want 5 pt cut outs, color, etc.
now is the time.
consider it a mixed blessing.

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's no winter season for me! I drive continuously

But that's yet another thing to consider, thanks!

I replaced the seats in my 94 with stock seats in new condition for $1k for the pair. I think I got them from VCA classified. While I was looking I found quite a few on ebay. I sold my old ones for $250 on ebay. You might find just the cushion part or parts lots cheaper.
I don't mean to rag on you in any way since a thing like this has got to be a real bummer. However, spilling paint on your seat is an example of what I've been saying about doing things to your car. Every time you mess with it there is a chance that something will get screwed up.
I hope it turns out that you can get it off without a big deal.

Now would be a good time to get a custom interior

I may need your help man... they may have to tow my car back down to me here. Do you think you would have time to go to Kenny's shop and give it the once over to make sure everything is done right before they haul it back? I'm trying to get up there.. but, it's looking bleak for the week

If you are looking for a good shop in the Raleigh area I would recommend Auto Interiors. They are in downtown Raleigh (821-4425). They do good work and are reasonably priced. I've taken my cars to them several times and have always been satisfied. In fact, I'm going down there today to pick up my up my son's ricer today. They did the seats, visors, doors, shifter, and steering wheel.

Yep, true, but this is small compared to everything else I've done and probably will do to the car, so I'm not too concerned

Let me know, I can probably get by there, and I've got the pics from before so I can compare. I'm sure the job he'll do will be great though, so it might end up that all I'll be doing is taking it for a 150mph test drive

Thanks for the info, if the cheap options don't work, I may check into it.

I expect to get another viper in year and a half or so, and this one will likely go to a family member, so no need to put but so much into it.
