Hello Viper Family,

I just wanted to post, that last week I installed (with some phone coaching by Mike Adams) the Paxton Viper Kit. I am not here to argue wether one kit is better then the other, or what. But I thought the MORE we know as a community, the smarter our decisions can be. Again, this was something I did over 4 days of work (tuners can get it done MUCH quicker, but I took my time as a newbie) and so, here is my PROOF. Also, this was NOT tuned, it was directly bolted on and tested. I obviously need to do some tuning.

Run 1-3 are my car BEFORE the super charger install, ONLY mods are T&D's and Alumn. Flywheel.

Runs 4-6 are AFTER the super charger install.

The Air/Fuel ratio is from a tail pipe reading, aka AFTER the Stock CATS

What is your a/f on your sc'er? It looks like it is between 13-14:1 the whole way. Is that correct? If so then you are going to hear a big kaboom. The a/f on the dyno is one thing but on the road it will be leaner. I would highly recommend keeping your a/f between 11.5-12:1. This is much safer. Some tuners of forced induction keep their a/f around 11.5:1 to be safe.

If that is your n/a numbers then you are fine but I hope it is not your sc numbers.

BTW, those are some great numbers on the paxton.

Good Luck!

Is this on the ACR or Silver SRT-10?

Why the big differences between runs 4-6? Different boost numbers?

Nice, Mr. Big-dog.

His air fuel ratio was done post cat and came in around the 12.0 to 12.5 area. This is a bone stock car other than roller rockers. Stock exhaust including cats

Great numbers for your setup and not being tuned. What happened to your exhaust? I remember reading a post where you displayed step by step the gains from your mods you did. Did you take off your complete exhaust system and put the stock back on?

Congrats - why the big difference on the s/c runs in terms of power?

Glad to see a "cream puff" with such strong numbers for a relatively low cost

Yeah John, wont go into too much of the details, but the Exhaust didnt work out. Both Mike Adams and B&B (Mark Fowler) were great at resolving the problem, but I have since gone back to stock. I like the quietness AND the power now !! :-D

Glad someone else asked too, I intentionally chose not to Answer BugEater, cuz he is a Hater, I will be eating him up at VIR next Year ;-) (just some good ribbing amongst friends).

To the point, my Dyno guy cut the FIRST RUN SHORT !! lol. guess he thought you could only turn vipers to 5k !! If you look closely at the "green run" you will see it stops at 5k (best viewed by looking at the 5k hash mark)

Anyway, so runs 2 amd 3 are the ones that count, as I convinced him to LAY into her :-D

Run 2 was hot from back to back pull relative to the FIRST pull

Run 3 sat for 10 mins, then went WOT !!

IF the 8.5 is the STOCK one that comes with it YES !! Mike Adams has already told me to go to the 8:1 one they include in the kit for cars that have modifications just to make sure I stay RICH.

I will tell you this, (when refering to buying a paxton DIY KIT) Hold off for now . I dont recommend ANY DIY supercharger at this time. Stay tuned for my take on PAXTON's offering. No I wont respond to emails or PM's regarding this right now. Sorry.

Had a little mishap, Jon? If so, hope everything works out okay. We'd all be interested in some real-world experience.
