Lol - Couldn't think of a better term for it, and I figured it'd get some attention.

The previous owner of my Viper informed me that he has the spoiler that bolts into the factory locations behind the license plate. The most similar one I could find is the "GTS Adjustable Spoiler" from Autoform. Unfortunately, the only picture on Autoform's website is a direct rear shot, and I'm looking for some side-profile images to determine if I should even offer to buy his wing. Of course, it serves him no purpose, so I'm kinda hoping to get a deal on it.

Does anyone have pictures of this wing that they could provide? Also, does it seem "sturdy" enough to you? It seems to me that the amount of force that wind would put on those bolts would be pretty severe, especially with the wind force being so far away (above) the mounting points. I'm sure a wing bolted into the rear tail of the GTS would generate a lot of stress, but this thing bolts almost a foot lower. Any insight?

Lastly, how does the wing sit against the top of the tail of the car? I'd be afraid of the wing making scratches/dents/rubs into the body.

If anyone has pictures or comments I'd really appreciate them.

P.S. Viper are expensive... :) $1,700 for a spoiler??

yes they are known to rub, so get some soft rubber in between the wing and the paint. x3 different cars over here sporting them

I really appreciate the pics - it's growing on me. I'd still love a perpendicular side shot, if anyone can find/take one...

Thanks again.

The second one does - thanks. I dunno - it really kinda mucks up the body lines of the car...

Dunno - I'll have to think about it. Thanks so much!!

I guess one plus point could be it shelds you licence plate slightly ;) Im not sure that wing would look good on your car, Its ok if your going for the race look, but your car in the Black / silver is more of a classic IMO ;)

Ok. Flame proof hat, suit, gloves, balaclava underwear etc on. What purpose other than "looks cool" does a rear wing on a GTS serve? A GTS makes 100lbs rear down force and 25 lbs lift at the front in stock form. The wing adds a ton of drag. Possibly you tilt it up to make the rear lighter to blance the already light nose? Or it is set neutral, "to look cool" add drag and slow the car down? Please correct me if I am wrong. I am adding canards and the small gt2 splitter to balance the car and prevent the nose from getting light at times. So when you bolt on that wing you balance the front of the car with massive vents in the hood, canards, and a cow catcher of a splitter? Air shocks at the rear to pump up and level the car? A lowrider set up at the front to get the nose to stay down and planted? I could go with a Hen type wing that Jon B also sells ,adds no rear downforce but can't imagine all the mods necessary to balance the car with an actual rear functioning wing only. GTS Bruce

Not something I would put on a GTS if I owned one. There are better wings, aesthetically speaking, out there unless the one in question actually is beneficial/superior on a race track.

Com'on guys of course its just a looks thing ;) The only benifit with that type of wing is you just unbolt it to remove it (without doing any damage to your car). The other wings require brackets and holes being drilled!! Personally, I love the race look which is why my car has a GT2 WING, rear defuser, front splitter, Team tech harnesses etc, But thats what I like :D

Jeff has Just got his first viper and he is thinking about some mods. His car looks very nice and mabie he does not want to start drilling holes in his new pride and joy ;)

Hey, we've seen worse. So long as he doesn't turn his Viper into the dolphin Viper he's OK in my book. :2tu:
