The GTS-R has an entirely different carbon fiber fascia than the stock car. The splitter could probably be made to fit, but it would require substantial hacking of the fascia, core support and frame to work. There are front splitters available from other suppliers who advertise on this board which are adaptable to street cars.

Larry B,

McCann Racing (330) 499-1664 makes an exact replica of the ORECA GTS-R rear wing and a matching front splitter for a normal GTS (the front bumper ground effects plate you speak of). It is carbon fiber, very lightweight, and very pricey. It is sold through Archer Racing (218) 727-4806; I do not know if McCann does direct sales. The wing is a direct bolt on to the GTS. The splitter requires approximately 1" of the bottom front fascia lip to be trimmed to align the splitter in the same plane with the bottom of the frame rails (to which it mounts).

If you want maximum downforce (within the ALMS/FIA rules) this is the way to go. I believe all the front runners in the Viper Racing League use this combination. One note, the splitter is so low and extends far enough in front of the fascia that it is totally impractical on the street. However, it mounts with 6 bolts and if installed with removal in mind takes about 5 minutes to have it off the car for street motoring. Chuck is correct on the rear glass. You need to pull four bolts out of the wing mount and rotate the wing rearward to open the rear hatch. If the wing is intended primarily for racing and not for "street looks", a total of six bolts and it is off the car for street/hatch use.

The ORECA cars run a flat bottom and the side splitters are an extension of the bottom plates. Jon B (Parts Rack 360-837-3937) and others make side splitters for regular RTs and GTSs that bolt right on, are made from aluminum, and are cost effective.

The dive plates for an ORECA GTS-R do not fit on a normal GTS front fascia as the radius of curvature is different. You can use the dive plates off of a GT-2 which is a direct bolt on, though they are somewhat smaller. I think Archer, McCann, or Jon B could set you up with these as well.

If anyone knows someone who makes dive plates in a larger (more useable) size, please post as I and a few other local guys would sure be interested in some as well.

Regards,

I have a '99 GTS. I would like to determine if the rear spoiler, front bumper ground effects plate (the black plastic chin plate that extends the lower bumper), side sill ground effects plates (the black plastic plate that extends the bottom of the side sills), and dive plates for a GTS-R will fit my '99 GTS.

I am especially concerned about the spoiler. The one I want to use is (or like) the one used on the ORECA cars which I observed recently on a '98 GTS-R. I was told that the GTS-R dimensions are somewhat different than the GTS, such as wider at the rear deck. If this is true, the spoiler may over hang the rear quarter panel which would be unacceptable in appearance.

I have not been able to find any info on the web concerning the specification comparisons between each model. At present, I have to assume ther is no difference.

I appreciate any help.
