You mean wall thickness isn't a spec? Verified by a drilled hole in a conspicuous place?

1-3/4" x .118 for mild steel - the next time someone checks it will be the first. A roll cage has to be certified every three years and that is on the vehicle, I cannot find where the roll bar must be certified.

They check seat belts and helmets with a microscope.

Going back to my off road racing days during teck inspection they checked the cage for cracks and that's it. The helmets & belts like you said with a microscope.

Did you have to drill holes in the top shelve to bolt up the roll bar horizontal long plate or are the holes already there? Do you have any pics of this?

The other thing I was wondering about was you mentioned that the seat would not go fully back, which bit of the roll bar is preventing this? Is it the thickness of the tube at the lowest point of the rear bulkhead. or the mounting bracket its self?

Hows it going cutting the interior mouldings?

Fatboy18,
I did not have to drill any holes in the top shelve. There is 8 threaded holes there already. There is 2 on each side where your oem seat belts mount and there are 2 more threaded holes on each side for a 5 point harness 8 bolts total. I dont think I have any good pictures of that area but I'll look. The seat doesent go all the way back because of the thickness of the tube at the lowest point. I have the trim cut and in. It was a bear! I'll take a few pictures of it tomorrow when the sun is out and post.

Thanks Glen, have to say I'm very impressed :headbang:
Fatboy 18,

Here are a few more pictures that you requested. I still have a little touch up work to complete on the trim in the center. I should have made a templet out of cardboard then over laid on the trim but I didnt. I'm kicking myself for it now.

Fantastic, yes thats what I wanted to see, theres a lot of bends and kinks on that rear shelve! That rear panel looks great installed you should give yourself a pat on the back, well done, and thanks for posting the extra pics :)

You bet. I made the templet out of pvc. I took a 4" pvc pipe put a slice in it then heated it and made it flat then went to work on it with a sawzall and 4" grinder to make it fit the back shelve. A lot of in and out of the car taking a little off here and there to make it fit.
Glen, I m local, can you get another one made?

97 Snk
I think I will make another as I have the material. I also think one could be made with out the down leg that goes behind the seat. That down tube could go back to part of the frame on the outside of the back shelve? I'll let you guys know if I do. The only hassle is I would have to pull mine back out to to complete another but that's only a few hour job.
