This thursday or next thursday I plan on taking my car to Street Fights at the Bristol drag strip if I can get my split second box back and tune my car.

$20 to the VCA member that gets the closest to my 1/4 mile ET! You have to be a VCA member and you have to have a paypal account to win the $20.

Car: 2002 RT/10
Engine: 510 Stroker, Paxton 9psi, Split Second 752rwhp and 767trq safe tune
Tires: Kumho V700 20psi
Drag experience: 10 times on a 1/8 strip

So, what do you think I will run? :eater:

You have no air at bristol, so add .2-.3 off a sea level run. I'll say 10.90.

10.30 @ 140mph is my guess.

This is cool. We should have a $20 contest for "how much is my car worth" and what it really sells for.

Just don't break it. We still want to see ya at our house on the 29th.

Well Chip I am new to the drag strip so we will see. It's going to take some practice to get good at it. Not sure how busy it will be so I might only get 2-3 passes each night. :dunno:

Just take your time. People feel rushed at a track, especially if new to it. Don't be afraid to ask questions and get advice. Everyone was new at some point. Most people are more than willing to help out. You're not trying to set records. You're trying to get down the track on a solid pass. Two major things to remember, don't over rev the thing and you're not getting paid to race. If the car breaks traction bad, you've botched the run. Don't beat up on your car after this has happened. Just ease out of the gas, make easy shifts and go down the track. The goal is to be safe, put down a good time and have your car in one piece when done.

^^^^
This = truth. I've seen it before where someone gets a bad launch, and then excessively beats on the car to try and regain ground, and breaks something. NOT worth it!

I'm not a VCA member but....10.5 @ 138

10.69@137. Just have fun. If you have too high if expectations you usually get disappointed. Don't set a time to beat, set your fun factor at high and concentrate on having a blast. low tens is more fun than high tens, UNLESS you were expecting 9s.

Enjoy the experience and whatever you run I'm sure you'll be popular with you car. Even if they throw you off the track your first run because you went faster than 11.5 without a roll bar. If you're polite, getting kicked off the track can be fun too, :)

Kumho + Air Temp + Driving experience 10.98 I hope you go lower but with that setup on those tires it will be all about the 60ft times :)

11.02 Ten passes in these cars might not be quite enough experience. Enjoy yourself & keep it straight= great night!

Knowing nothing about the whereabouts of the split second box you need to get back or who is going to do the tune, I am guessing it is likely you make no 1/4 mile pass either tomorrow or next Thursday. Otherwise 10.96. I take Paypal.

I'm just hoping to get in the 10s. Heck I would be happy if I got 10.99. I also do not know if I will need a roll bar or not. I checked their website but does not say anything about it. So I will find out at the track and then if it's under 11.5 then I will go 12's for practice then on my last run hit it hard. It would **** to run a 11.4 on my first run then get kicked out! lol

Did you run the 1/8 mile with those same tires? Seems like a dangerous choice for a 140mph car.
