Guys with crazy stereo systems: Alternator Upgrade?

There are some folks on the board with over the top 3000+ watt stereo systems.

What did you have to do to your car to support that sort of wattage?

Did you upgrade your alternator? Fill your car with extra batteries?

It can't be as easy as just wiring in lots of amplifiers I would imagine.

I added an extra marine battery for the system in my van. Major difference in quality.

I've been messing with stereos for quite some time; the best thing to do would be to cover all areas. Upgrade the battery and alternator. It would also be a good idea to add a capacitor if you dont decide to do the first two.
