Has anyone else ordered the BC coilovers from Will at RSI in the past 6 months?

I ordered the Black Friday BC Coilovers special from Will at RSI in November. Since I ordered them Will and Paul have been telling me that there was a bunch of order issues on BC's side and that they first sent the wrong forks and then the second go around the wrong spring rates and that RSI had to send them back. It's been 5 months and I have yet to see my set. I have two rear blown shocks and thought I would get these things sooner. Two weeks ago he told me that they should be coming in on April 18th but I didn't get anything yet. I left him a message this morning and haven't heard anything yet, he's usually pretty good in responding.

I'm wondering if any other viper owners ordered these as well and are having these problems getting them?

I was going to order them this week. Seeing this, I will probably just buy them off ebay from BC directly.

I have the single adjustable MCS sitting here on the shelf ready to ship with the correct springs (rates). Not cheap like the BC, but definitely worth it once you have them on and experience just how good your Viper can ride and handle without compromise.

The BC coilovers are a great inexpensive option for the Viper. The standard setup for these units from BC is not the correct spring rate or valving. After dealing with headaches over these for the past year, we finally sorted out all the issues with them, but they still have been delayed in supplying the correct units. We are expecting that all open orders will be filled this week with the sets that came in last week. And then we should have these in stock at RSI in 3-4 weeks for immediate shipments.

Yeah, but the BC shocks come with rear forks that can be used as a receiver hitch when moving a farm trailer......

Will, i'm not sure what all you did as far as fixing "bc racing issues" because the first viper in the country to see one of these kits installed and tested was mine, and there was no issues with them.

And considering i personally know the guys at BC Racing i take exception to the insinuation that someone who has waited 6 months for BC coil overs was because of an issue with BC.

If someone wants BC coilovers right away, call BC directly or one of their reputable dealers.

I know BC has 2 kits in stock in Orlando. If anyone is waiting for them please call BC and talk to Tim for a full explenation.

Actually Mario we supplied the original stock coilovers to get these made 3+ years ago and had these setup as a private label product but continued to get ****** around on them. The first sets that were ordered were spec'd correctly by us, but came in with the wrong forks and spring rates. Although what you are running on your car might might be what you think is correct. They are not setup as we originally wanted. If you have any other questions then please give me a call and we can discuss it. If BC has anything to say to us about this then have Pete call me.

Guys I'm still waiting on my coilovers. Jeez I need to replace my rears ASAP. Will called me last week to inform me that he had a tracking number for the Gen II's and will have a tracking number for Gen III's the following day but I haven't heard from him. I left him a message last week on Friday and I'm waiting on a response.

I hope you are calling BC directly and not just posting in the forums, as of last week there was 2 sets in stock that had been in stock for quite some time.

I don't get it. How can it take six months to get a set of coil overs? And we are talking fairly low end coil overs. I've pondered it at length. Even if a Sasquatch ripped through my shop, killed a few people, accidentally started a fire, caught itself on fire, and knocked me in the head on its way out the window rendering me ********....I could still get a few people some damn coil overs inside of two months.

it doesn't matter if they are low end, high end, medium end etc. The point here is BC has had them in stock and can ship if someone calls them and makes an order. I have a simple rule of thumb with parts, give me an ETA up front that you can stick to it, and if the vendor can't keep that deadline, I'm surely not going to sit on my hands and miss the window of opportunity to file a charge back while i'm hearing stories, and in this case, the client obviously has not talked to BC directly other wise he would of had coil overs 5 1/2 months ago.

Mario, could you please shed some light on the "wrong forks" theory? How about the "wrong spring rate" theory? Is this a common issue with BC?

Mario, could you please shed some light on the "wrong forks" theory? How about the "wrong spring rate" theory? Is this a common issue with BC?

BC Racing offers a variety of spring rates available, because they allow clients to be able to fine tune their suspension according to their needs and desires. However what comes on the sealed box with the off the shelf kits is not "wrong" , it may simply be different from what an avid road racer would want, or someone who rather have a springy softer ride for example.

My car is running on the kit that comes in the sealed "off the shelf" kit, and I can tell you with full confidence the kit is a 1000% upgrade in terms of the way the car rides, handles and its aesthetics. And while is not my intention to put my resume here, I have owned, sold, and driven coil-over kits since their inception in the aftermarket industry, and have a good understanding of what to look for when looking at, and testing such product.

As for the forks I know there is 2 different kinds, it is entirely possible that one kit was shipped with wrong forks, mistakes happen. But what I can tell you is BC Racing would not make ANY client wait 6 months for any part. In the event they couldn't get something within a reasonable timeline, they would have not gone forward with the order. Again please keep in mind my feedback is not from some guy who bough 1 set of coilovers from BC and is now their most loyal fan/client. I worked for Titan Motorsports, a company that literally sold dozens of BC kits in a monthly basis and I have seen first hand how they operate in any kind of situation, weather an item is defective, not in stock, not shipped right, in back ordered, etc...you name it, and they consistently took care of clients and when above and beyond to make sure their reputation wasn't tarnished.

Please e-mail [email protected] and put in the title "Attn: Tim" . Any and all answers you seek, he'll be able to give. Good luck.

Now, I have a question for Will. Is it common for BC to "preset spring rate" prior to shipping? Did any of your Black Friday customers specify spring rate specs prior to ordering? Do you single handedly determine spring rates for clients based on your conversation with them on their potential driving habits? What type of ride could be expected from an RSI fully spec'd set of BC coil overs? Are they spec'd differently by Viper generation? Were ALL the forks on the orders from Black Friday messed up? Did you receive any discounts from BC for their incompetence and if so, are you passing any of that to your customers for their inconvenience.
Thanks,

You do have a particularly nasty online personality, don't you? I've been in the manufacturing business 30 years and have seen so many ways simple mistakes creep into a process. I , personally do not assume incompetence on the part of a manufacturer without knowing the people involved. A previous post seems to indicate a good reputation for BC. I see no reason to denigrate them in this forum. But, that's just me.

I am in no way bad mouthing BC. Will inferred incompetence on the part of BC as the main reason for the coil over delay in shipment to the OP. I am merely playing devils advocate in an attempt to seek the truth....although I may seem an ass, I have a slight disdain for unscrupulous behavior and the environments in which it is allowed to flourish.

If you had $5k to spend on coil overs, would you buy Motons, KW's, Penske's, or BC's ? I figure if I bought some BC's, I could lower my car to "hella flush"...buy several large suckers, a couple of paddle ball games, some fireworks, a Kazoo, rent a midget for a day, and still have money left over to take a few friends to the **********.

Ah yes...the elusive Paul. You’re more likely to get a call from "Nessie" from Lock Ness

you are right Free2go, Paul will mimic whatever you say and add "call you next Tuesday" to the end of sentence. Example: [Caller], Paul! where's my 2 million dollars you promised me 4 months ago, I already sent the 50K deposit, my Viper and a twelve pack like you asked. [Paul] It's the suppliers fault, I will get with my Nigerian contact and "call you next Tuesday"....tick tock, tick tock.....

Waiting on a call back from Will left him 2 messages on his cell phone and waiting on a response. Still waiting on a response from Tim.
