How many towels will it take?

That is the beauty of Zaino. I found out once I started using it, I utilized less laundry. Before it would take 3 towels to dry after washing. Now only 1. As far as polishing I only use one to take the Zaino off. Definetly microfiber. :usa:

Maui,
Here is what I bought, and They are Super.
Product #DA1330
Product #DA1340
I bought a number of each from:
http://www.rightlook.com/store/detail.htm
The DA1340 is a Waffle Weave, which gives more surface area, and really works well for hand buffing and wax removal.
Go to the site and see their various Microfiber towels, search for the above product numbers for details.

So said AJT

I thought polyester & nylon would scratch a paint job??
MicroFibers will not scratch your finish, I have been using them exclusively for about two years, on BLACK...No swirls or clearcoat scratches...MicroFiber's "lift" dirt, whereas cotton can "push" dirt around, scratching your clear coat...Not to mention, MicroFiber's "feel" so much softer than cotton...Try some on...

Snake,
Yes, use once then wash, after wash the seem even softer.
I also have a couple of microfiber buff bonnets;
use with buffer, NO pressure, just buffer weight, for final buff. VERY lightly, just move the buffer over the surface, brings up the gloss.

I've never used micro fiber towels. What's so great about them? Sal Zaino has always said to use white 100% cotton towels, made only in the USA.

Larry,
Go to the above mentioned site, and discover "what is great about them".
Again:
http://www.miracle-group.com/microfiber/info.asp?category.asp?CAT=MICR&DL=1&UPSCAT=
Here is a quote from the article:
"The difference between natural fiber and microfiber is microscopic. Fibers in natural materials such as cotton or wool have rounded edges and their density is low because natural fibers are relatively thick. This results in dirt and grime just being pushed along the surface, and not removed, leaving streaks and smears behind."

Sal, any comment??
You have a black car & these are not leaving marks, then I believe they wont scratch. This sentence concerns me.... "Sharp"?

Our microfiber has thousands of tiny ?sharp? edges that literally ?grips and rips? dirt, grime, mildew and stains off of surfaces and then ?locks it deep inside? like a magnet

I Emailed the thread to Sal. I would like to hear what he has to say.

Re: Has anyone tried removing Zanio with micro fiber towels?

I have also followed Sal's guidelines religiously for years, but worked up the courage to try microfiber after seeing them a year or so ago in Griot's Garage catalogue in an ad that started "I've always used nothing but cotton but" (Griot's has top of the line stuff, but often is ridiculously expensive). And the microfiber works great, just as advertised. Not only are they great to remove zaino or wax, but they are MUCH better than cotton to do the final drying on a wet car after washing because they're so much more absorbent. I don't think the true microfibers we're talking about have been out more than 2-3 years, so Sal may or may not be familiar with them, but they're the only thing I use. Cotton is now for drying the doorjambs. :)

Some of you guys know Stave Paztor affectionately known as "Zaino Steve", here in DFW. All he uses is microfiber, and I honestly don't think either of his Vipers have a SINGLE swirl mark or scratch. That's good enough for me!

Re: Has anyone tried removing Zanio with micro fiber towels?

Interesting, I have used these for a couple of years, but never thought of using them on my car. At home, I use them to clean the delicate acrylic on my large reef tank. At work, we use them to clean critical plastic and glass optical devices. We have found nothing that cleans better and is safer than these.

They do feel odd. They feel soft yet will grab your finger print ridges, so at first you think they may scratch, but they won't. Also, the link above does have great prices compared to what I have paid in the past.

Are all microfiber towels created equally? Is one brand truly better than another?

Re: Has anyone tried removing Zanio with micro fiber towels?

I always thought that a synthetic cloth was like a polyester which could scratch. But what doeas SAL at Zaino say. It is hard to believe that a towel that costs a few bucks compared to $30.00 for a fieldcrest towel is better for the car.

Maui,
what's up brotha?? Hey, i took snake bitten's advise and ordered from pakshak.com. they have good prices and i think their rep is right in hawaii. you should like that. i used them this last weekend. i use 3M product and loved the microfiber towels. it took more than one though. i think i will now try the zaino stuff, the 3M stuff is harder than heck to get off. i probably let it dry too long. anyway. pakshak.com worked for me. i think i got like 12 towels or so and 3 foam applicators for about 50 bucks. hope all's well. bill

No towels touch my car after washing. I use a leaf blower and it works great!

Re: Has anyone tried removing Zanio with micro fiber towels?

I just started using a microfiber instead of a chamous for drying after the leaf blower and was amazed. I have not tryed products from the company below but they have a good selection of microfiber products....even gloves.

I'm assuming the colored micro fiber towels don't cause any problems as Sal recommends only using white. I believe most of the micro fiber dealers only sell the colored versions.
