I tried this before but since I now actually have a Viper, I'll try again.

The Corsa exhaust that I'm planning on buying is pretty much the exact sound I'm looking for.

I want headers for the performance increase.

If I've used the search function correctly, headers all put out about the same HP (+/- 5 rwhp among each other). I also know that Bellangers are loud.

In a perfect world I would get a 50 rwhp increase with headers that kept the sound exact same as factory set up.

That ain't likely to happen, so I welcome your opinion on what the closest to that would be (sound is more important than HP -- blasphemy, I know, I know)

I don't believe the headers contribute to the "noise problem" per se. The cat back and most importantly the CATS themselves provide the increase or decrease in exhaust volume. You may have heard Belanger headers with no CATS. That is loud!!
As far as HP goes...If I only got 5 hp out of my Belanger Headers I would of sawed those puppies out and got all my money back!
You really need to listen to a car with the exact setup you want. Corsa exhaust with high flow cats sounds way different than Corsa with stock CATS.

ps. I had to defend my headers just a little...

So you want the car to be as quiet as stock but with headers, cats, and exhaust

Then here's the combo ->

1) Headers (loudness - all about the same) but some have a different "pitch" (i.e. dirt bike or big block sounding)
2) high flow cats - RandomTech from PartsRack, are the quietest. Roe high flows are louder than RT cats
3) Corsa cat back - A Must (all other cat backs are much louder)

I tested mine against a stock GTS within 5 min of each other here are the results:

at idle 3' from rear
Stock - 86 db
mine - 88 db

inside car at idle
stock - 72 db
mine - 74 db

BTW expect 30-35 rwhp with headers, cats, and exhaust not 50

What I meant was:
1. take stock Viper.
2. Drop in Corsa exhaust.
3. Note the volume level and sound quality.

Add best headers and hi-flow cats, while trying to keep as close as possible to the two readings above.

However, MES saw through my crazy language, so I guess I need PartsRack cats and bellanger headers.

Any other suggestions?
