Just finish with the gen3 to gen4 head swap, I also change the cam and springs. RSI did all the work for me and they got it done in a week very happy with the over all power from the swap. The car feels and drives like stock and the final # ended up at 625hp/605 tq, on top of the mopar kitt was a set of Belanger headers, metallic HF cats, corsa cat back, acrx spec tr6060, 3:55 on the rear end, the cam is an RSI spec cam but very similar to a greg good spec. No clue how to load a video but I will post one on the Facebook page. Few pics

Thanks guys, the tune was done by RSI and they use an sct hand held that I had, I have done many mods over the years but when my car was stock it put down 439 hp can't remember the tq #, as you can see the magic is in the tune for sure we are swapping the 355 for 307 on the rear end so the # will go up and cooler temps.

3.55 rear end is the good ratio for you and technical specifications of your viper?

Im running tr6060 with the revised 5th and 6th from an acrx race car plus all the extra power the 307 feels much better, if your making less than 500hp the 355 work great.

Was it a direct bolt-in installation? Any modification or issues? I am looking to do this to mine in the near future. Interesting about the gears. I am going to 3.55, but if I stand to end up anywhere close to your numbers are you saying I should stay with 307???

Nice job though! Congrats!!

My # where achieve with the 355, if you keep the standard ratio on your trans the 355 work perfect remember I'm running a tr6060 not a t56. If your interested I have a complete rear end with the 355 I can sell you and it's out of an an 09 ready to bolt on.

The kit that I used was the mopar gen 4 heads swap for a gen 3 the only differences is that I swapped the cam and springs.

Good numbers for stock heads! Wonder what #'s they would get if they were ported and polished?

After seeing the # that the gen v kit is making with the ported heads I don't think is that much to gain there, the tune is where the hp is.

Im making 659rwhp with ported gen 3 heads. What #'s are gen v's making with ported heads and cam. I would think more than im making. Someone said over. 670? fyi I am running stock gears. I wish 333 were still avaliable! I might try the hardened 345's.

Is this the Mopar 150hp head/intake kit?
What cam are you running?

I've been considering the Mopar head kit with the Roe 710R cam, headers and dyno tuning.
-concerned about valvtrain reliability with the Roe cam though................

Just curious why you went with the Mopar kit vs. the Greg Goog ported heads? Why not a set of Greg Good ported Gen 4 heads to go with
His cam you're using?

GEN-IV heads out of the box > GG ported GEN-III. And they are a better designed head as well. And its not all about flow numbers either. Port velocity, swirl, quench characteristics, injector location, etcetera and so forth. You can get high flowing heads that are counter productive to your goals.

Good question. Not a lot of folks willing to mess around with that much swapping of parts. A no kidding straight-up swap of top end GG ported GEN-III vs. GEN-IV on the identical engine with before/after numbers would be nice to see too. I guess unrealistic all things considered. I'll have a semi-interested project later this spring going from a GEN-II ~stock heads ROE 16 psi system to a GEN-IV head Whipple 4.0 system. Again, apples and oranges so to speak; but the outcomes are what will be interesting.

Any reason you couldn't do ported and polished Gen 4 heads on a Gen 3 rather than stock Gen 4 heads? I'm debating on building my Gen 3 so just fishing for ideas? I think I'd rather build the engine than go the Paxton route.

I read a thread on the SRT Ram forum on the GEN-IV build a guy did on his GEN-III SRT Ram truck. GG ported GEN-IV heads flowed 427.5 vs. stock GEN-IV at 330. WOW. But even the stock GEN-IV flow amazingly well up to .600 in lift.
