HEAT SHIELDING QUESTION

I installed SVS headers on my 93 rt. I knew that they were supposed to run hot, so i wrapped them. My floor pans are so hot that my feet feel like they are on fire! SVS advised that they no longer sell their heat shielding kit. Does anyone know of any of these kits that are available?
Is there a source for heat shields similar to the type used in the side sills? any other suggestions?? thanks.

Might try getting them coated. It's a pain because you have to pull them out, but it will reduce the heat.

You can make your own heat shielding two ways. Buy the blanket type, available from many sources, Pegasus, Summit etc. If you like doing your own even more, buy heavy duty alum. foil, some owens corning glas insulation and make a sandwich. Either one works. Use spray 3M to install.

Another way of removing the heat from your footwells is to increase the ventilation. Remove the four screws holding on the left Hood "Speaker Grill" and note where the grill marks are. using a dremel tool with a carbide cutting wheel you can easliy cut ou the marked section. Using a double edged file, dress teh edges so they are nice and smooth. Once done with that, take a fat Sharpie pen and mark the edge so it looks Professionally done. Put everything together and you will notice a dramatic decrease in heat within the footwells. Your Brake fluid will also run much cooler!!

Also makes for a bit more downforce at HIGH speed.

PartsRack has the insulation items....some cut to fit !

I also remember one of the owners in the UK talking about using the top of a flower *** to trim it out. Anybody remember how big of an opening that was supposed to be?

Before you cut, think about the drawbacks of having that hole there, and is that really what you want to live with. When you wash the car, water gets in there. If you drive in the rain, water gets in there. Might be better off insulating.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR HELP.
I'M GOING TO CUT THE HOLE UNDER THE HOOD SPEAKER GRILL AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. ALSO GOING TO GET MORE INSULATION UNDER THE CARPETS.
