Can't offer any help, but have a similar problem. Sometimes, with no regularity, my door will not close as you mention. However, I simply give it a second try and it closes every time on the second try. Give that a try without the key fob action and maybe we have the same problem, I'm going to get into my Shop Manual and see what they have to offer on it, I'll post any findings.
