Help Me Here, I Don\'t Know The Answer.....

The previous owner of my '03 had the brake calipers painted red. They look good; whoever did the job produced a great result.

Yesterday, A friend was looking at my wheels and asked why there is a second set of calipers on the rear wheels. I looked closely and darn if it didn't look like a smaller set on the rears, in addition to the regular ones. It felt like there were a brake pads too.

Are these the parking brakes or am I missing something that would be obvious to anyone with the slightest level of mechanical skills???

Thanks....

Don

The extra set of calipers are kinda like a reserve chute that a skydiver uses. If you find your brakes not working due to overheating at the track, Dodge has built in a panic button under your "cupholder". Lift the cupholder out and depress the button and those 2nd calipers will kick in.

;) :)
