I was installing a 93 tune and in the middle of sending 'tune" to pcm the SCT prog. "Blinked", them read,
"error code 11 OBD
Noautodetect"

Then programmer wouldn't proceed to do anything. When i tried to read/access other DTC codes etc, the same "error code 11..." came up. Car won't start either. Called Sean Roe, who I bought it from, and he didn't have any idea??? (Very distressing to say the least) He told me to check fuses and to call Dan Cragin. Dan was nice enough to talk to me about a programmer, I bought from someone else, and suggested the battery. After getting a new battery, installing it, nothing changed.

Left message this a.m. for Sean to call me (first point in SCT Disclaimer states that the "dealer" is responsible at this point). Not sure what he might know this a.m. that he didn't know last night so I thought I would see if anyone else has had a similar problem and how they resolved it. I have left a message at SCT tech support and will try them again this a.m. when they open.

Mike at XVIPERS is del. a spare PCM to me to check and see if the SCT erased my PCM.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My new SS coupe is sitting dead behind a fence at a construction site...with rain forecasted for next 3 days to make matters worse

Thanks

Why the hell would you do this at a job site, as opposed to your driveway or garage???

The '"jobsite" was at one of my building sites. I had my employees push the car into the bldg. behind the fence. My concern was getting the car home for three days (Rain)...

The idea of having a portable SCT prog. is so that you can REMOTELY change the tune to the situation you are driving, wherever you are. That is the advertised main selling point anyway. (AT VOI I used the 93 tune to drive around town. When I went to the track, and discovered 94 octane in Detroit, I changed the tune, when finished, changed back.) I have swapped back and forth many times depending on what I am going to be doing in the car w/o any type of problem. Most of the people I have talked to that use the SCT do the same.

Don't know if you have an SCT but it is very easy to use and change tunes. If youn aren't going to use the multiple tunes it would make better sense and cheaper to get a "reflash"

Seems I saw a thread of yours about needing to do a major "hood open" detail job on your car after getting caught in a storm. My question to you, Why would you go for a drive if it was going to rain?

Hey Dimitrios
Nice to meet you at VOI.

That is exactly what happened. I contacted SCT this a.m.. They were very helpful. Matt, at SCT, diagnosed the problem over the phone. I hooked my programmer to my computer and he corrected it in a few minutes with a new file. Started up and runs great.

And I was able to get the car home before the storms hit...

Explaining Viper things to you
My question to you, Why would you go for a drive if it was going to rain?

Rain is something I can't control, and there was a remote chance I would hit it that day. I won the lottery it ended up.

But where you choose to change your tune is way more in a persons control. If you do so at the track or hotel as you might have mentioned, the warm fuzzy feeling you got from having it crash on you might have been of a little less impact.

But hey, it is your car, you had your reasons, and you can do as you want to. I only thought that was a little odd to do it at a construction site.

But now you owe the guys that helped push it rides!

This happened to someone with a GenII. They received a new stock program to try and it solved the problem for them. http://forums.viperclub.org/rt-10-gts-discussions/613348-tunned-viper-no-start.html

Thank you. I saw that post last night while trying to find a solution. It helped me get on track on what to do next.

Like you, the new program worked for me too. SCT explained it as a "glitch". Just like the ones we all have on our PCs'... happened for no good reason. Just needed to be reloaded.

True, I told them I would take all of them for rides in the car...last night. I told them they would need to decide who would push and who would ride...

My apology, I wasn't very clear. After rereading my text , I understand where you are coming from. The "jobsite" was a HUGE newly fenced and guarded blacktop parking lot adjoining the new building. The project is complete and I will turn it over in a couple of weeks. The key words I left out are HUGE wide open parking lot. I'm sure you can imagine my intentions with my car in this situation...:D :naughty:

The programmer went completely blank. There wasn't a "return to stock" to put back. Like I mentioned above, SCT sent me the settings and everything turned out fine. The SCT tech compared it to a PC "crash".

Had it happen to us once too. a little different circumstance, same result.

If the PCM is interrupted during upload, it loses the "directives" on how to operate, and that includes those that tell it to respond to the SCT tool being connected. SCT needs to write a tune that ignores the PCM's non-response, and forces an upload anyway. Once the program has been re-loaded, you are good to go.

As always, make damn sure the connector is fully seated and the battery level on the car is OK before doing an upload- it may save you the headache.
