In an 08 Srt 10 which has the Graphite Bezel. Any suggestions, pics? I've been shopping for one today, bought a Garmin Nuvi 680 four months ago for my daughter, Garmin seems to make a good unit, 680 not available now, seems there is a good deal on the Garmin 750 at $599 at Circuit City. It's a 5.2 inch screen rather than a 4.3 so I'm worried it may be too large but it would obviously be easer to program on the fly if you had to as everything is big on the screen. Hard to tell where or how it's gonna fit cause they won't even let you take it out of the box for God's sake. And even if you buy it and take it out to the parking lot and bring it right back there's a 15% restocking fee.
Suggestions?
Suggestions as to other brands? Places to buy? To late to buy on the internet, gotta find bricks and mortar store even if it's more $$ as the car leaves for Detroit Monday.
Not so concerned about a little savings right now as I am getting a good unit that will mount well and not look like crap when mounted

Checked Sams Club or Costco? You can check online to see if they have what you are interested in stock to pick up at the store.

Micro Center maybe?

I have a Garmin that I baught about 5 months ago and I keep it in my Viper. It has the suction cup that holds it to the windshield and this works great. It keeps it out of the way and is very easy to see. I wasnt sure how well it would hold to the windshield, but so far, I am very happy with it.

That is what I initially thought, but I have had no problem with the view. I am only 5-10 and never had a problem. You can mount it pretty low to the dash so it should not be a problem. I have also seen people mount the nav on the left hand side of the dash, kind of in the corner.

Lee,
Buy the biggest Garmin you can and stick it to the windshield with in arms reach...works great.
Why the biggest screen you ask...because it gets hard to hear the driving instructions at speed esp in my Vert. So at least i can glance at the map and view the upcoming turns.

I bought the Garmin 760 from Circuit city. Costco and Walmart then had a sale on them for $386, so I went back in and Circuit City refunded me a portion of my money. I usually like to buy from Circuit City for its convenience and customer service If I have a problem, but its nice to know they price match within 30 days of purchase.

Anyways, the 760 is great. I like it alot. Its even great on trips. We went to Maui to get married and it was a life saver in getting around the Island and finding shops.

When I use it in Viper, I use windshield suction cup, even though itsa technically Illegal in California to mount to windshiled. I center it up with my rear view mirror, but put as low down windo as I can. It hangs about a 1/2" above my dash from windshield. I can see it well and reach it no problem. And it doesnt block my view. I played around with it when I got it, mounted it in about 5 different places. Its also nice, because you can detach unit from suction cup mount and take with you or throw in trunk if your worried about theft while parked.
