I am going to be installing an upper end gasket kit in a few days. As long as I have things torn down I was thinking of trying to pick up some HP. I have read that gen 11 headers will fit on gen 1 cars, do they make more HP and if they do how much. Will they bolt right up to my borla exhaust? Also are gen 11 injectors better than gen 1's. Any other suggestion while I have the motor torn down would be great. (I have two race projects going right now so I would like to find some cheap HP. Thanks)

With the motor apart I would have the heads ported and polished-little compression bump, SS valves, little more aggressive cam, extrude hone the intake. lot of header choices - read the archives. Headers, I like Edelbrock for clean looking and a little mid range gain, Archer/CDI for the bigger HP gain and best for engines with head work and more aggressive cam. T&D roller rockers.

Good time to powder coat the Intake and valve covers.

If you decide to go with factory exaust, get a late model Gen II headers (99+?) They are a little lighter and make a bit more HP then the earlier Gen II's.
