Help with Roe

I am in the LA area CA. I was looking to find someone to install a Roe SC. I called DC Motorsports in LA and they quoted me $2000 for install. This does not sound right to me. Is there anywhere else I can send the car to around me? I need help.

My brother and I have owned 4 Vipers between us, and DC Performance is the ONLY place we will allow to touch our cars. I have gotten to know each and every member of the staff personally over the last two years, they are a class act. You can trust them to take care of you. $2000 for a supercharger install is very fair, the install labor alone is about eight hours or more. On top of that, they will do an inspection of your motor, and theres a LOT of tuning time that needs to go with a supercharger. Its not a simple blot-on. You will not find a better Viper tech than Dan Cragin. He has been involved with the Viper since its inception in 92. You are LUCKY to live in LA and have one of the best Viper techs in the country nearby. Dont take my word for it, look trough the threads and you will see what great work they do and how knowlegable Dan is. No one in the LA area has done more supercharger installs than DC Performance. Dont make the mistake of going somewhere else (God knows if theyve ever touched a Viper before) to save a few bucks. You will regret it.

$2000 for just a Roe install is high. 1Tony1 installs them for free if you buy the supercharger from him. If a vehicle inspection and EXTENSIVE tuning are included you might get closer to that number. The supercharger comes with two cards that are a safe tune depending on what octane gas you are using. You can drive and dyno the car with the included 91 or 93 octane cards. Sean can send you a new tune after seeing your dyno sheets. He has done this several times for me and never charged a dime. Call Sean and ask if there are any other installer options in your area. You're gonna like the car when it's done. BTW get the water/methanol kit also, huge bang for the buck.

I cant imagine that there would be such a disparity in price. Dan is a stand-up guy, and I know DC Performances prices are fair. Maybe there was a mis-communication. Try contacting DC again and Im sure things will get cleared up.

You should be able to get the install included if you buy it from a Roe dealer.

I called Dc again today and spoke with Dan the man himself and now he quoted me for the Sc and Install $9800. The other day someone else at DC quote $2000 for install and the Sc is only $7250. Azure Motorsports (flossin) qouted me $6890 for the polsih Sc by itself. I really don't know whats going on with DC.

$2k for the install?? that's insane high...it's only a 8 hours job, and the install will normally run about $500-800...no more than $1k....a lots of shops out there will install it for FREE if you get the charger from there..it's very easy to do....

May be a stupid question but, how do you expect to pass smog in California with a supercharger that is not CARB approved?

Roe web site state $550/$600 average price for install and 8 hours for "novice" or 5/6 hours for experienced.

I would say Fly Tony out there and pay him some money and you will be cheaper by far. Sounds like you are getting viper taxed!

Is it just the SC you're having installed, or are there other mods beyond the kit?

Sc only thing being installed, no other mods. I don't worry about smog cert. My old Supra and SC400 was never smog legal anyways. I just have a friend

Ab, I am tryin to get Tony out here. That would be the best case scenario.

venomblue, I was wishing that DC would've said, if you buy from us we will hook you up.

Its pretty clear that this install price has never been heard of. I am also debating of shipping my car to San jose for install. Thanks for everyone's help.

$2,000 is nice way to say "We dont really want to install your supercharger" Go elsewhere and dont waste a 3rd call back to them! You could drive 10 states over and still save $800 on installation, gas, food, room and board etc!
