Twice this week my viper has cut out on me at high rpm's around 4-5k. It has happen in first gear and then second. It has been really hot here about 115. First time it did it the car wouldnt start and by the 3rd time I tried to start it my battery died. Do you think the battery is going bad and this is causing it to cut out and just die or what?????

the higher the revs, the more juice yer using. How old is the battery??? If more than 2 yrs old, worth a try....

Maybe the fuel cut off is malfunctioning somehow?

Does anything else happen at the same time, like a flicker of the gauges, or?

nope no flicker just all of sudden car shuts off. I was reving it high during the burnout thought and it was fine. Battery's here go fast in the heat. Just never heard of car shutting off because battery was dying. Was thinking of having battery tested and if bad put a optimum battery in it. I want to race it at the track in two weeks with my brand new tires.

So would you put in a reg battry or spend the big bucks for a optima. Think I might get a regular one to see if the problem goes away.

It would be nice if you could indicate what you need help with in your subject line so that ppl do not have to open the whole thread to find out that they can't help you and have no interest in this thread. Furthermore those that do know something about your problem, may just never read your post at all. Isn't that what the subject line is for? :D
