Guys, was just kidding with the stats and price. Just made up some info to see if any ooohs and ahhhs would be found. I have to admit that I do like the new coupe style there better than the current coupe C5 (which I don't like so much.)

By the way, these are supposed to be the REAL photos of the car though as they were loading it in for a photo shoot.

I get the same reaction when I tell people about the viper.. 100% response so far has been "why, its just a dodge... get porsche for that money"

I think it looks OK in the pictures shown, of course I would like to see more pictures of the car.
I hope they do make it 450-500 hp or so, as that will push DC to make the SRT Coupe that much stronger when/if it comes out!

After 1 year of production though, it will get very boring just like the C5 did!

Doesn't look bad, but doesn't look much like an entirely new car. More evolutionary with C3 styling cues. I think the look is nice, but conservative. Probably will be a great performer in the Z06.

The hp specs you describe (yes 500(+?) are for a LIMITED production "supervette" (NOT the Z-06 either)from what I have read.

I have heard rumors that the Z06 will have viper sized tires and a wide body unique from the coupe but as I said, just rumors, not confirmed yet. It definetly needs some bigger meat. That has alway been my favorite part of the vipers.

Yes, the C6's LS2 V8 is rumored to have between 380HP and 425HP and weigh about 100lbs less than the current C5 Corvette.

The C6 Z06 is supposed to be less than 3000lbs and sport 500HP from the LS7 engine.

And the ZL1 is supposed to have 625HP, either from a 427ci stroked V8, or twin turbos.
But it is also supposed to have different styling and a full carbon fiber body too, so it might be in Enzo territory (if it actually gets built).

I think that this is all good news. I think that the C6 design is sleek and evolutionary, and importantly it should drive DC to produce the SRT-10 Carbon, with 625HP and 3200lbs, and hopefully prompt a super-Viper with turbos and 750HP+!!

as u can see from those pix the wheelbase has been stretched 2 inches longer than C5 vette. so now the new vettes wheelbase is a whopping 106 inches. also as u can see the front wheels are now 18x8.5 inches in size and the rear wheels are 19x10 inches in size. those brake rotors in the front are now taller and the rear rotors are now wider. the motor that is being used to power this new C6 vette is a 400 hp 6.0 litre.

I'm glad I sold my C5 Vert when I did because the C5 and Z06 Market is going to Tank even further when GM releases the C6.

I have owned my Viper GTS for nearly 3 years, and never, and I mean never has someone said, "Its just a Dodge...." or "Get a Porsche for that money". 95% is positive, and the negatives are always, "my buddy has a car that's faster, and cost less" or something to this extent. People freak over the Viper. And I have spoke with around 1 zillion strangers about the car - at every gas station, etc...
