hi guys and girls, i posted in the thread (beginning of a very bad thread), the poster really didn't have many good things to say about the gen III and where dc is going with the viper. my main statement is gen I, II and III are and always will be vipers. before i purchased and until i received my gen III i felt the same way most of you who have posted felt. it does take awhile to get use to the new body style but really no other cars really come close to looking like the gen III's up close. it still looks mean and very aggressive. i went to a cruise in last friday and was really surprized of the reactions the car was getting. the guy who purchased my 02 rt/10 met me there, we had both cars side by side with hoods open and all liked both cars. biggest thing out of their mouths ( WOW I ALWAYS WANTED A VIPER ) thing is i love all vipers, no matter the generation and will in time purchase another gen II to complement my gen III. also the shock and awe really is no different, which has surprized me by the way. if you have not had the chance drive one sometime, i think you might just feel a little different about it. for those who think its more a everyday driver, for one its much hotter inside then my 02 ever was and i wouldn't ever trust leaving the car parked without being able to see it at all times. one last note, i went downtown where i live to pick up something from my printers and was parking it along main street. a man and his son's were watching as i parked, when i got out they came over to me asking if it was a ferrari, now if thats the new responce for the gen III, well i can live with that. hope this leaves you all with something positive, now come all SHOW ME THE LOVE BROTHERS.

You'll be getting no love here, traitor. Now go over to the Gen III / S2000 forum where you belong.

Can't say I disagree with anything you say Tom. The Gen IIIs have been showing up often and in numbers at this season's events; it's great to have them. I like most was a little disappointed when they first came out, but after seeing one in the rear view mirror, or following one during a cruise one cannot dispute that they are all Viper.

The Gen III is really starting to grow on me. I may very well own one someday soon. I've been watching the sales and pricing on the cars and they are becoming more affordable to add to my stable. Didn't want to buy the first year because I thought they may have problems but Dodge didn't change much in 04. The 2004 I think have had more issues than the 03 cars from the assembly line and not really much of mechanical stuff from what I've read. Good car in my book and I want one.

Gen 3 will grow on me as soon as they put a roof on it.
(and that comes from a RT/10 guy!)

No sympathy, but you may cruise with us... :D

I was driving down the street the other day and noticed a yellow SRT-10 and thought WOW, now that's a good color for the SRT! Then I realized it could be one of the VCA yellow ones that were made for VOI8........ crap those haven't been made yet.

I looked closer and noticed it's a Honda S2000. Still a nice color for the car, but the SRT-10 really should be relabeled the S4000.

I'm sure you're a nice guy and I'm not passing judgement on you. It's just the truth about the SRT-10. The factory is aware of the mistakes in the SRT-10 design and look for changes in the Coupe at VOI8.

Three atta boys for you... and a hip hip hooray. No one is arguing, it is a better engineered car. It's the right car for you.

I still love the GTS! Gen IIIs are sweet looking, more comfortable inside and more powerful with better brakes, but we can mod our GTS's to match/pass the SRT-10. Can't do much about the interior, but I like the GTS EXTERIOR vs. the Gen III more than vise versa - hope that makes sense. All Vipers rock and I think the next coupe will help quell anyone's disappointments with the current Gen III....

Hey welcome to my world. I loved my gen II RT'S, but like Chuck said "if you want to fall in love w/ the SRT do a few laps at a track", Amen brother nothing will be worth more than blowing the doors off of Ferraris, Porsches, Vettes and the likes of many others

Go test drive one or have someone take you for a ride.Beware you may come back with a 4 sale sign in hand.Or going home to tell wife there is a new addition to the family. And you will need to enlarge the garage. :2tu:

Yes Gen 3's ARE Vipers. Just as a GTS is a Viper. Out this past weekend driving around in my ORIGINAL VIPER ('93) and my wife who is NO car or Viper expert sees an SRT pass by and says "Hey - there goes a new Viper".

Now the hard part - wifey did NOT approve of my purchase of the '93 - but after I saw the White Mamba SRT - and fell in love - I gotta get me one of those! All SRT's are starting to grow on me and after reading about all of the "refinements" and the fact that it has an easily storable top and real power windows are just icing on the cake of that V-10 MONSTER!

OK the only real viper is a gen 1 no windows no door handles no air bags just rough and rumble. We are all pusses for trading off the Gen1`s but we are fasst pusses. I just need to get my old green car back. GEN 1--2--3 there all great but those GTS`s just don`t look like a Viper. Took about 3 years to grow on me.

ABADASP....that's what I call an avatar....three silver Vipers...RT/10, GTS, and SRT. WANTED...enjoy your SRT. I now have 25,000 miles on mine....up Highway One to Seattle, across Mid-America, and in the mountains of Colorado(through fog, rain, and one snowstorm)...I have put mine through the paces and have no complaints.
