I don't know if 14K-20K miles for a 97 should be considered a high miler. (That's only 3K-4K miles a year) I guess it depends on how you plan to use it. (I don't think it would be prudent to purchase a 97 with 3K miles and use it as a daily driver, nor would I buy one with 50K miles and store it away as my trophy car thinking it will appreciate in value)
I searched for over 8 months for my 97 Blue/White and looked at many Vipers that were advertised in the Auto Trader, VCA classifieds, Ebay and local paper. I discovered that the GTS's closer to $40,000 had 35-40K miles (or more) and or were not taken care of as well as would be expected. (i.e. numerous stone chips in the front fascia, sandblasted windshield, door dings/scratches, been in an accident, etc...) The cars that looked well taken care of had lower mileage (5-20K miles) were in the low $50,000's, or very high $40,000's. (Don't forget, a valid warranty is an added value)
The VCA for sale board lists 19 97 GTS' of which there are only three in the mid to high 40K range and only one of those is a Blue/White. If you find a 96/97 Blue/White GTS for $40,000, check it out good, and if everything comes up 4.0, JUMP ON IT!
Good Luck
