Was wondering if I could add Homelink to the Viper so I could control multiple garage doors but not have to dig in the center console to find a remote (my openers are old so the remotes are huge) and came across this self dimming rear view mirror with built in Homelink.

They also have up-models with a compass and outdoor thermometer. This seems like it would be a great addition for a Viper. Has anyone installed one of these? Idea of price? Here is the Website: (they seem to be looking for dealers - hello PartsRack)

Looks like a pretty cool idea. Since the windshield area below the mirror is at a premium in the Viper, I was wondering if you could mount those so the buttons were on the top of the mirror thus maximizing your vision.

I've installed the mirrors that have temp, compass, and aut-dimming in cars. Not hard at all, use the exsisting wires for hook-up. The mirror I described was about 200 bucks, don't know what a homelink would cost.

That would indeed be awesome! It would have to be the model with the outside temperature gauge and map lights for the SRT or the RT/10, as they have their interior lights built into the underside of the mirror. Don't know if the lights could be wired accordingly or not (on with door open OR switch). While I have never been one to suggest "modernizing" the Viper with the comforts of home, dumping a clunky remote would free up some valuable real estate in the Viper cockpit. And I could live with an outside temp gauge too... ;)

Anyone try to install a PT Cruiser convertible mirror? It has a compass and temperature gauge in the mirror, as well as the interior lights. I do not know if it has garage door capability of not. Just a thought.

I was researching the other Chrysler convertible mirrors (Sebring, PT, Crossfire) and did not see any that offer Homelink. I can see changing them out for Homelink with the added benefits of compass/temp reading, but not vice-versa. Just my thoughts!

The key chain remote is great! I've got one that came with my home's security system. It's small enough that it fits in my ash tray.

I put one from a 2004 Sebring in my GTS. It has temp ,compass ,auto-dim ,homelink and LED map lights. It does obstruct my view more compared to the factory mirror. The homelink and auto-dim are the best features.

Was it OEM? Aslo what was the cost of that mirror? Thanks!
