Re: Honey... I\'m home... (w/ my new 05 SRT-10)

Thx guys. I gotta say, I watched the video on the way back home from Chicago on the airplane about a million times. It sucked that I had to hurry the whole process up because I had a flight to catch the day I gave it to him. But none the less, in 20 years.. I'm still going to have this video, and still remember the day, I did what most guys would love to do for their fathers.

I wish you all the ability to do the same, as the feeling is indescribable. I thought buying myself a Viper 3 years ago was one of the happiest moments in my life, but it simply pales in comparision to one that occured 2 days ago.

Thanks again for the support (emails, phone calls, posts and pm's), we definetly support our family on viperclub, even the black sheep (me).

I always wanted to give my dad a Caddy. He put us through med school(my brother) and law schools(my sister and I). Unfortunately he passed away before I was in a position to do it. I am happy for you. Enjoy the moment.

Oh, and I did. Years ago, I bought my dad a new computer, and told him 'It comes with a warranty, now call Dell when you have computer questions NOT me' Yeah, that lasted like 8 hours. So he has like 4 computers (doesn't know how to use them obviously) but he definetly knows his way around the net.

I THOUGHT about pointing him here, but I thought he might be dissapointed with a few of my other pots.. lol... He is a very humble guy, and he says I have too much of my mother in me, when I start acting pompus.. lol..

I'll point him here.. we'll see if he wants to talk. Course, he'll have to get registered. Oh man.. now my dads gonna be able to monitor me... yuck!! :D

Re: Honey... I\'m home... (w/ my new 05 SRT-10)

Hello to one and all. I am the very fortunate recipient of my son's gesture. Please be sure to take most of what he say's about me as completely biased (for the very few who do not know him!!). I didn't know the presentation was going to be broadcast, much less that he was doing this for me. In real life I am much taller, but I believe the lens may have distorted that reality. All jests aside, I was completely overwhelmed by Jon's generosity. Jon and I have sometimes obtuse conversation and some may missinterpret our
banter. But, rest assured that regardless of our verbiage, I love my boy and he certainly has shown his for me, not that this gift was necessary to prove that.
Enough about Jon!
I have been a Jagnut for many years and have tried to convert Jon to that idol. He has resisted and my efforts have been thwarted and turned on me by making me "come to the Darkside, Luke Skywalker". I am completely transformed to the Viper ways. I will, however continue to play with my numerous 4 wheeled felines as they require a great deal of attention. Anyone who has had any form of contact with British cars knows this universal law. Jon has already warned me to leave well enough alone on the Viper and I will heed his warning, after all I don't wish to have the gift returned because it was the wrong size. Happy to be converted, Max

Max -

Welcome aboard and congrats on the awesome new car! We have been putting up with your kid for a while now and are very glad to see somebody that can keep him on the straight and narrow. Of course that is assuming you managed to do so thus far. :2tu:

You are both class individuals, only you more so as seen by your good taste in the fine vehicles from Coventry. Just remember that the Viper has a far more lethal bite than your cats. Make sure you take some driving tips from Junior. :D

Welcome, Viperdad. You are one lucky dad. Again, it's not the viper, but the gesture that counts. My kids are very young, and I can only dream and hope that my kids will be 1/2 as generous as your son is. You are one lucky man!

The apple does not fall far from the tree. I suspect ViperDad is reaping the rewards of exceptional child rearing years. Congrats to both of you for your wonderful relationship.

"...exceptional child rearing years". You're giving me way more credit than I'm entitled. Let's just call it lucky. I just brainwashed him so that he would buy me a Viper later on in life!

Re: Honey... I\'m home... (w/ my new 05 SRT-10)

Well, I'm already Dad's service tech. We swapped cars for the weekend, so I could get a few items taken care of under warranty with his car. (Nothing major)

But I also changed his oil for him at 700 miles.

And he took my shorter shifter... grrr.. lol.. Guess my dad didnt like the idea of driving a truck, or at least having a shifter that made you feel like you were.

Here are some updated photos of me and pops together this morning before he headed on his 3 hour journey back home:
