How do you remove the Front Fascia ??

I'd like to remove my Front Fascia but I have no clue how ..Is this something a "Do it yourselfer" can do ?

THis is how you do it!!! You'll need a 1/4" , 3/8", and 1/2" socket wrenches. You'll also need, I believe a 16mm combo wrench, a 12 pack of beer and directions to your house. email me your address with directions and home phone in case I get lost, get the beer on ice, and when I get there I'll walk you through it!!!!!! LOL!

I usually can't get away during the weeknights until 8:30 PM since I have to help get the kids ready for bed.

No bolts along the top but push pins. Here's how to remove it.

1. Remove the bolts holding the bumper along the left and right wheelwells.
2. Remove the bolts along the bottom
3. Open the hood and remove the plastic push pins (christmas trees) holding the bumper to the reinforcement. (The pins under the headlight are a PITA).

Reverse the procedure to install.

Note that if you need to align the front fascia, hood and headlights, then now is a good time.

Do the X-Mas tree push pins usually break? Is there a special tool to remove (pry) them out such that you don't scratch the paint? I guess if you can push them from the top, no problems then...

Tomer , I spoke to Heffner and he told me to just sheer the X-mas tree pins from underneath with a flathead screw driver and replace them new ones .

Ahhhh you ruined the surprise. Yes there is a special tool which I am bringing along for the push pins and I have a few spare push pins as well. However, the approach I take to remove the facia only involves removing 2 push pins which do not contact any paint at all.

P.S. I'm really parched.

Ulysses, I never knew that I was getting assistance from a Specialist Sounds like you've done this before .

DON'T pull out the push-pins - they will break and are a PITA to remove - they cannot be effectively re-used even if they don't break because they lose their grip. Once you have removed the bolts on the wheelwells and on the bottom under the radiator area, all you have to do is remove the hood latch bracket and four nuts (13mm, I am pretty sure) that hold the whole assembly to the car - including the core support. The first time it will take you a while to figure out how to access the four nuts two of them require removing the air deflector above the radiator area; I can get my fascia off this way in under 20 min.

Oh, and don't forget to unplug the driving lights.

Best to get help the first time, if you can.

Keith is correct!!! Not to worry, Keith. The push pins on the skin itself I don't plan on touching at all. There are 2 push pins, one on each side, that hold the plastic enclosure onto the frame rails. I find it easier to get to the two bolts between the plastic enclosure and the facia, if those push pins are removed. I have replacements for those. If Jeff can get his hands in there, we won't even have to touch those.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I just punched a hole in my coolant recovery tank (the infamous lower bolt in the facia thing)....
Do I need to remove the facia to get it out?
ps. I have a fridge full of beer.

Hey Jeff, take a picture of the front with the nose off. I will post one of mine (stock). I want to see how the intercoolers look placed. I have seen the TT set up from underneath at Jason's shop, I would just like to see the front.

BTW, it is really easy to take on/off.

Just drink the beer and find a telephone pole. The telephone pole should be the only tool you need. That should get the front fascia off. If it dont, back up and at least get it into 2nd gear...
